Woulda been great if I didn't just pull one a week ago.

I'm in that awful position where every USB and several of the BSBs would absolutely make the pull worth it even on a 1/11 basis, but a dupe/11 would crush me. And I wanna wait for banner 4 for another shot at Rikku USB, so...such a hard pass

Sworn by Steel is the Meliadoul event. JP only went up to the V Gogo event so we'll have 14 more events worth of BSBs that might be on the selection.

Ooh, that changes things. Might pay for Strago BSB to cover the Wind/Earth/Water Magicites to pair with Vivi/Shantotto for Fire/Ice/Lightning and Raines for Holy/Dark.

If they allow for BSB2 relics as well, Celes BSB2 might be a good choice too.

I already have her OSB and BSB, I think the game is trying to tell me something.

It's pretty glorious and rather nostalgic to watch Terra tromp through the snow in her Magitek Armor and blast the enemy with Omen, then quick-cast shift into her trance form and nuke them with Scorching Flames.

Really makes Sealion an easy farm.

So now I'm actually torn on which relic to choose on the gem banner. Before tonight it was a no brainer that I'd pick Y'shtola's Asylum but now that I have Bartz USB I was thinking his BSB2 or 3 might be better.

Only thing is that I don't have the 5* motes to fully dive him and I'm currently grinding dark orbs to hone ninja abilities for Edge so I don't know what kind of orb stock I'll have for honing spellblade abilities for Bartz.

Suggestions?

Two Relm's brushes
Gogo thing

Oh well. Relm has Last Stand at least and Gogo BSB looks pretty good.

Should I go in once more with 3 dupes now?

Cecil USB isn't, like, as broken as Edge or Rosa or Bartz, but it's still a great survivability SB (goes well with his cover-based Legend Dive) and works well as a one-stop Guardbringer Buffing stop. +100% DEF/6000 HP Stock/Enholy is, like many Cecil things, incredibly plain but undeniably effective.

So I got Bartz USB and went to go try it out in the orbfest, does the chaser not show up unless the spellblade ability is ONLY one of those elements? Like does Snowspell Strike not count? I did USB, then BSB, then Snowspell Strike and didn't get the chaser spellblade thing. Does the thing you hit have to survive? There was still another enemy on the field so I would assume it would just hit whomever is left, after.

Snowspell Strike will only count if it actually hits as wind. The ability defaults to ice unless wind would do more damage (wind weakness, ice resistance, etc).

Also yes, Bartz USB will only chase fire/earth/water/wind spellblades. This extends to the commands of his various BSBs since they are all coded as Spellblade.

As the actual banners aren't so great overall (to where me and probably a fair number of other players won't pull much at or at all), I feel like I'm blown my load early in the fest. And with the way this roulette thing is going, looks like all my stamina's going towards farming the fest for now.

I must have the weakest will in existance. It's not even an hour after I decided not to pull on Phase 2 anymore but then I was thinking "what the gently caress else am I going to spend all this mythril on since I decided not to pull on SSB banners?"

So here we go.

1/11 Relm's Brush, third copy. Literally the worst possible result. Deserved that one.

Why not, let's make it exceptionally miserable, once more for the hell of it.

2/11 Locke BSB, T... T.. T... Terra.. USB. My most wanted thing on the banner. Let's go legend diving.

I got rewarded there but I still think pulling even once more was a mistake. Sometimes you mess up and it sill works out.

Really? What's wrong with her dive? Sealion is just one boss, I'm expecting to get more mileage from just USB Meltdown Chain Firaga burnings.

Oh and don't worry about bursting my bubble, I don't exactly need any relics. I just irrationally want some thing or another despite how good they are. I really wanted Cecil BSB2 they took off this banner even though it's aggressively mediocre.

Her legend dive is almost purely fire focused, which is good if that's what you want her for, but not much else. Her LM2 is gimmicky but powerful, though you can easily trigger it yourself if you have last stand, and you do. Her doublecast materia comes from a relic, and it only works with fire damage.

It's pretty great I'd say but there are downsides.

I have so many characters who are good at everything so I'm especially looking for a fire specialist. If I legend dive Terra I'm expecting to burn everything to the ground extremely well and nothing else. If facing fire resistant bosses she's not coming out to play at all.

Probably not unless you need a poison BSB. However the selection might and probably will change from what JP had so let's wait and see what's up for grabs first.

Or stop worrying about min/maxing and just legend dive the characters you like. Who else are you going to spend those motes on? I have Cid Raines' BSB and still preferred to LD Terra first since I have her USB/OSB/BSB1. No regrets whatsoever.

I'd say it depends on the relic pool for the banner itself. Is it basically SSB+ all-inclusive?

I might do it just because truly open-ended banners like that are fun. I wouldn't mind having Leila's BSB for poison coverage and FF2 synergy or Orlandu's for the hell of it, though.

Just got her USB and did the same. But she was my favorite of al FF games and I don't really care about min/max vs making teams of characters I like work

You could always pick up Lulu's +ice armor. It is a pretty rare boost that you might not have.
