MANime in the sheets posted:I can't stand it. Switching back and forth between chats is incredibly slow, and having multiple threaded conversations is driving me up the wall. So much scrolling. Same. We've tried to standardize on it and it just feels like a haphazard platform bested by just about everything in class. But o365 integration means it's a hard sell to managwkwnt to do anything else. So we end up with a fracturing of communication between projects (who use project resources for whatever they want) and Teams ends up as a weird half used thing.

I've only been at my current new job for about a month. Just had a recruiter I worked with reach out to me about a job offer that matches my skill set ridiculously well, at about $20k more per year and it's 95% remote (quarterly trip to HQ). What are all your thoughts on being apprehensive on job hopping? It's sad that after only a month here I feel like I already know it's not a great fit long term (slow as hell, getting pidgenholed into a specific technology), but I feel like if I don't at least give it a go for a year I haven't really tried...

Also, Teams threaded chat is the worst thing about teams. Otherwise, it's.. fine. Not great, just fine.

Go for it. Really, as long as you don't have a history of job hopping, who gives a poo poo. Fudge a week or two on your resume and be done with it. I think it's easier to bounce at 1 month than like 6 months. If you include it on your resume at all, you just explain the company wasn't a good fit. That's not unusual.

How many Office 365 products now have a feature where employees can write their own blogs? I think SharePoint has two, and Yammer is sort of that as well. For a feature that nobody wants or uses.

I told the recruiter to pull the trigger on giving the company my info, we'll see where it goes from there. I figured I was getting worked up for no reason at this point as I haven't even talked to them yet to see if they'd be a better fit for me.

I started the job I am at now back around mid March and only ever took a half a day of PTO, so I am basically going to take every Friday off that isn't already a holiday for the rest of the year. We have summer Fridays work from home so it cut down on commute but that ended earlier this month. Now I'lll have 3 day weekends and then a break between Christmas and New Years I don't even have to use vacation days for. Pretty chill.

Last year when I first started this job, one of my first tasks was to put together a list of computers that were 3 years or older so we could budget for replacements. It took me nearly a week to gather all of the information, format it in excel and provide a good estimate. This year, I just copied the info out of PDQ Inventory, looked up the current price of our standard laptop and I'm done.

Ive had very few problems with SFB, mainly having trouble clearing notifications of missed messages, I couldn't figure out how to get group chat notifications, and it seems to make my laptop to take FOREVER to boot. But Teams can take upwards of 2 seconds to switch between chats, and I sometimes think about doing violence to whoever came up with threaded chats. FWIW, as far as I know both our Teams and SFB instances are hosted by MS, though I won't be 100% sure until the first outage.
