So, we have a month of Death Guard releases coming up, and then after that...what? There can't be two months of no 40k model releases, right? Have we seen anything or even have strong rumors?

Interestingly one theory that I've seen about the most recent one (eagle decoration of some kind) is that it's Dorn's shoulder pauldron. It matches up almost perfectly to the artwork, but it's also a design that's pretty generic for the Imperium.

They were only running them 30-large anyway, and unless Commissars were changed significantly, the pseudo-Fearless blob problem is still there. IMHO, if you add the Valhallan rules and strategems, Codex: Astra Militarum is actually MORE powerful than the Index... not good for balance at all. The already best army is getting better.

It's not even out yet so let's not jump the gun. Conscripts for instance could be further balanced by a points increase and that's not the sort of thing they talk about in these previews.

They do talk about price changes, they said russes are cheaper.

Making orders take on them a 50/50 does help a bit though. And we've (afaik) not seen anything about their cost. They might be a bit more expensive, which together with a points drop on overcosted units, like the confirmed one on Russes might encourage people to at least vary it up a bit.

Yeah, Russes getting cheaper was kinda i doubt Conscripts are getting a point cost increase. Makes no sense

Have they talked about any price increases? Also I'm warming up to GSC allies getting an alternate doctrine. I was irritated at first, but honestly that makes more sense.

I expect CWE will at least get plastic Eldrad is a separate release just like those GK/AdMech did. Who knows what else there will be. Perhaps they'll take this chance to clear out the last resin/OOP stuff in the Tyranid range with plastic Lictors / Shrikes / Biovores / Pyrovores? edit: I also expect that after a few months of Primaris & Death Guard we'll see more of a focus on AoS. Pretty sure that Cthulu Elves were rumored earlier this year. xtothez fucked around with this message at 18:25 on Sep 28, 2017 |

i was under the impression that only the new factions (3 remaining Traitor Legions and Primaris) were getting new models. i would be very excited for new Eldar kits but the odds are incredibly unlikely

Eldar and Nid codexes are due before November, so that'll be the rest of October sorted. Probably see Plastic Eldrad released separately. November is looking to be Specialist Games month. Necromunda/Blood Bowl releases, as well as this new Shadespire game's expansion boxes and the like. And December of course is all a mystery. Some years they release new stuff, other years they focus purely on limited release xmas goodies. Hope the megaboxes are as good value as last year's were.

Chances are if you're not a new faction you're not getting new models for a while. This latest round of codexes seem more of a means to get everyone out of the Indexes and up to speed with their unique gear/traits/strategems and whatnot.

So Black Library is now on audible. Now you can own audiobooks of The Beast Arises for the low price of $31.97 per 6 hour audiobook, or $383 for the series of 12. But wait! If you're an Audible member you can buy them for $22.38. That's a savings of over $100!

Valhallan vehicles are pretty funny. Russes don't degrade until they have been reduced to literally 3 Wounds or less. In contrast, Steel Legion vehicles only reduce incoming AP-1 shots to AP0, which is relevant against like, autocannons and a few other things. Both Emperor's Children Pink and Fulgrim Pink are part of my pink granite recipe that I use for my 30k DA bases. I've been working on another batch of 20 for a soon-to-be-completed tactical squad. Total War has put a hold on that project for at least a couple of days though.
