P.T. is probably one of the scariest games I played in the last decade but it's too bad most people can't play it anymore. I was hoping someone would come to close to it but only RE7 really tried to get to that level of dread in the first 3rd of the game where the main challenge is being pursued by one enemy. There was a game called Allison Road that was being developed a year or 2 ago that's probably never gonna be finished but it looked like it was going to be the PT we never got.

Seriously, the scariest thing is wasting money because Humble got you again with their Monthly auto-charge for three months in a row. I'm on the verge of moving into a completely different career field which would likely mean going back to school and at the very least will require me give up my steady full-time job to work something part-time while I take certification courses. So my October will consist of more broad, existential dread rather than spookiness.

I love that whole series and it's a shame we're never gonna get another one. I feel like they did something special that no other jrpg does. I'm a sucker for alt-history/secret-history/weird-history stuff though. I love how that whole series has just 1 singular core story beat that each game ended up stemming off from. For anyone looking for spooky games to play, if you can get into old ps1 games, I highly recommend the first 3 King's Field games on PS1. They look old, they control awkwardly, but if you can manage to get into them at all then you'll find some wonderful games that will manage to spook you a bit with their eerie atmosphere and low polygon count.
