garo -vanishing line- looks cool. i have no interest in any other garo products land of the lustrous. i read a bit of the manga and liked the design of the "villains" blood blockade battlefront beyond because alliteration kino's journey 2017. it's a pleasant series even if it is baby's philosophy 101 attack on titan lost girls ova which i hope isn't poo poo and the disc for genocidal organ comes out near the end of october Relin fucked around with this message at 12:11 on Sep 29, 2017 |

giving that post more thought and while the order you watch shaft and shinbo isn't important, i can confidently say you should absolutely watch both at some point. it's really cool to see how shaft developed out of shinbo's style, and also to see what unrestrained shinbo looks like (notably in Tenamonya Voyagers). only downside is those shinbo shows are old and largely forgotten, so you have low quality rips with the unique fansub stylings of the era. dunno how viable it is to hunt for the home video releases.

I'm not really sure what 'm gonna watch this season. Magus Bride and Konohana Kitan both look interesting, but everything else is either a sequel to something I've yet to watch or doesn't catch my eye. Might just catch up on things. I've been meaning to give LL Sunshine and March S1 a try.

Yeah, watch March. It's a keeper. Also, a friend compared Akiyuki Shinbo's name still being there to the whole "Steven Spielberg Presents" being a thing on Amblin 90's cartoons. Which I thought ruled as a comparison.

My understanding is that Shinbo hasn't actually directed anything in years, but has largely been occupying a role somewhat akin to a producer and a mentor to Shaft's younger directors. Which I think is cool, tbh. It's cool to think about a studio having an old master around bringing up a squad of pupils to put their own spins on his signature style.
