Corvette. Also, in the game context, frigates and sloops iirc.

At this point I would not be surprised if the Jaluit garrison is relying on the American ships to supply them with American guns and ammo.

So, the allies should have 4 or 5 Essex class carriers by this point and another 4 or 5 CVL's after losses?

Theoretically with losses (or cripples likely under repair) how many CV's you expect the Allies to have in theatre or available at this point in game?

I sail some battleships into Juliut. This causes some consternation and sinking amongst the allied vessels. I keep the pressure up on the ground . You fools! No! This protects my subs at least. They try and snipe my carriers. Three torps is a bit excessive. Yep, here we go with another “all the subs are active” phase. Looks like I've sunk all the easy targets now. Even in numbers, ahead in value.

27 September 1943 German escort Jungingen, which had been sunk by the RAF in 1940, salvaged, repaired, and re-entered into service, sunk by British MTBs in the English Channel. Italian torpedo boat Enrico Cosenz, scuttled following damage suffered in a collision with a merchant ship and German air attack.

Im going to laugh if one day a Liberator lands a stick of bombs directly onto one of your carriers from 20,000 ft.

So, who would win if the USN William D. POrter ran into elements of the Regina Marina?

This is a strange place for an oiler. The Allies suddenly attack here. I'm surprised its taken them this long with the number of troops they have there. The Liberators keep taking their runs. We get a flak kill though. It goes quiet today.

Nooo! My tankers! Sub pulses. They are definitely a thing! Our subs are still out there! The I-173 slams more torps into the troopship. Its gone quiet in the air. An old kill keeps us in the lead.

Are atomic bombs automatic successful attacks or is there a chance for failure that the plane carrying the A-bomb might be shot down?

So, presuing your oiler that was hit by the sub doesn't sink, given it's not on fire is there a chance it can survive and get to a nearby port for repairs?

A sub slips through the net and hits one of our light carriers. They sailed into Singapore Harbour. THEY SAILED INTO SINGAPORE! I can't believe it. We hit a landing craft twice. Another one is hit. I-38 is having a good day. We start on another remanent force. 10,000 Chinese troops is to many to leave alone. How about that suicide run eh? Madness! Thanks for the points though!

In the beta you could It was in a nested menu you opened from an unrelated production screen. The researchers all had specialties that were poorly documented and tech progress was incredibly slow if there was specialty/subject matter mismatch so it generated complaints from the beta testers. Instead of documenting it they chose to remove the button leading to the research menu leaving it to run, uselessly, in the background. I'm kidding, obviously the game wasn't beta tested.

The routing algorithm really really wants to route through the Singapore hex unless you set the TF to "safest" route. In a sane game it would probably have justified a special exemption in the engine, but this is WitP...
