d64 posted:going back to this thing from 20 pages ago, what's this ribbon cable connecting three cards setup? the bottom board says "inter-tel 1991." inter-tel was a maker of early computer-based PBXes. so i think this thing is one of them. that would make me assume the top two cards on the ribbon (blue) are for talking to voice lines. each one has a big dsp on the corner for, idk, ivr poo poo? the bottom card is presumably some kind of single-board-computer to run the PBX software, hence the hard reset switch line. not sure what protocol is spoken over that ribbon cable. could be literally anything. serial + voice maybe? edit: confirmed, the "AIC to VPC" printed on the cable gives it away. "aic" = audio interface card, "vpc" = voice processing card. so it is indeed an old-timey PBX/IVR system.
