"The Puerto Rican Resistance" San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz accused Trump of 'poor leadership.' She complained about a lack of aid to her hurricane-swept country of Puerto Rico as she stood in front of palettes of aid. Apparently she wants President Trump to deliver water bottles Puerto Ricans personally. Maybe he can spoon feed the mayor while he's there, too. The smoking gun is the fact that the Puerto Rican Truckers union is sabotaging the Hurricane Maria relief effort. The Union is not allowing the truck drivers to move containers from the Port of San Juan and the US aid cannot reach the people. The problem is not Federal- it is local distribution. The Hillary-supporting Cruz praised FEMA for their work just days before bashing the president. When it comes to Trump, she just couldn't resist resisting him. It's just another example of the Democrats and the legacy media attacking Trump no matter what he does. Trump Derangement Syndrome continues to be an epidemic among the left. —Ben Garrison

Despite clearly having the resources, Trump remains too focused on his own vanity and distracted by trivial matters elsewhere to properly deliver aid to Puerto Rico. AGC. There was an article linked to in another thread, I think, but it was about how Puerto Ricans who lived up in the mountains were trapped with no supplies, no utilities, and trying to get to a town meant a long arduous trek on foot since the roads were blocked and the cars had no fuel. Or tweet threads about how much damage has yet to be repaired, or all the people that are now living off of a can of beans per day. Then Garrison rolls in with his steamin' hot take, Everything is fine. Or, it WOULD be, if it weren't for those godammned UNIONS and that dumbass Trump-hating Dem Bitch Mayor!. Most Garrison toons are just eye roll inducers. This one is actually, like, really bad.

Someone else already brought up I don't like Mondays and there's also Steve Earle's John Walker's Blues about that American guy who ran off to joint the Taliban. Not remotely a hit and unlikely to get any radio play outside of maybe some college stations with a dedicated inde country hour, but people still pitched a fit about it existing.

I mean, it's one thing to do that stuff when people ask questions about the inner workings of the Trump administration, but Puerto Rico is by all accounts devastated and in desperate need of assistance. People shouldn't be saying "Uhh, actually, everything's fine! Shut up! Commie cuck!" It's like I'm being gaslit, but by people doing it in such a blatant and unskilled way that it becomes a second entire tier of gaslighting. Is anything real anymore?

Starshark posted:They loving well did, you never heard the song on the radio without the dj mentioning it, at least in Canada and Australia. I think a lot of people didn't know what it's about. Purely anecdotal, but I've heard of people saying they thought it was about someone not wanting to go to work and complaining Garfield style. The lyrics seem pretty obvious that it's at least about something dark or violent (I thought it was about suicide at first), but a lot of people don't understand even more obvious songs. King Possum III posted:
Holy crap, this is the most hateful thing I can remember from Garrison. "Do they want him to personally deliver the water?" Sure, why not, it's better than what he's doing now. Reminds me of when people were criticizing Chris Christie for not doing enough during Sandy (I think), and his response was "do you want me to get a mop?" Sarcastic defensiveness is unattractive when people are dying from your incompetence. Titus Sardonicus posted:Are Trump fans latching onto some talking point that Puerto Rico isn't a US territory and puertorriqueños aren't American citizens?
