Yeah, new Black Dahlia is great. Glad that they brought back more black metal sounding riffs, something that's been missing for a few albums now.

On a whim, I decided to listen to Winds of Plague, and apparently they just came out with a new song/video and album announcement. It's less moshy deathcore and feels a little more black metal leaning. I kinda dig it.

Got to see them on Saturday and they played Invisible Enemy and Frost off the new album. Both were great.

I think I've seen them 4-5 times now and they always go hard. Gojira was absolutely awesome live too.

I don’t mean to sound bitter, cold, or cruel. But I am, so that’s how it comes out.
There's a new one out today from Through the Eyes of the Dead that might be their best release since that first EP with "To Take Comfort" on it.

Yeah I feel like I'm taking crazy pills seeing the reception here because Brock is a beast of a vocalist and both their most recent and Time and Trauma are absolute top-tier radio metalcore.

Holy loving poo poo that 36CF song/vocals are absolutely dogshit terrible.

In stark contrast to how bad that was, please enjoy what just may be the best deathcore song of 2017 along with some of the best vocals in the genre (Dickie Allen from IA, of course). Skip to 4:00-4:11 for some real demonic, disgusting, awesomeness.

Eh I got into heavy music with Atreyu and Killswitch Engage (and old 36CF actually) so I have a soft spot for buttrock/metalcore lite garbage. I maintain that Brock's vocals are great and unique in an "I want to blow Daryl Palumbo" kind of way, and dudes write immensely fun and catchy music. Basically, praise unto Brock Lindow, God Emperor of All Diarrheacore

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLkm-Bpkgv4

They haven't really been a -core band since like 2005 but the new TBDM is good. Basically the exact same thing they've been doing for 10 years but with better and more memorable songwriting. It's made me go back through their discography again at least; I usually listen to each album as it's released, think "yep that's real good," then forget everything I just heard. Can confirm: everything between Nocturnal and Nightbringers is good and I don't care if I ever hear it again. Will be jamming Nightbringers for awhile though.

This is how I feel about everything BDM does. They write/play good music but it is unforgettable as fuuuuuuck. Nice to jam if it comes on via Spotify similar songs or whatever but I very rarely put it on because I'm in the mood to listen to middle-of-the-road noodly metal riffs.

Also, I respect the gently caress out of you being like "yeah I listen to Atreyu and poo poo so 36CF tickles my taint." Live your best life man, but that bands sucks poo poo lol.

I don't think this is the case, but I've accepted that a lot of the poo poo I listen too is just ridiculous when you look at it objectively. I think this goes for all Metal, though. I mean, it's a bunch of dudes looking tough and jumping around screaming.

BTBAM last night was incredible, glad I finally got to see Colors live all the way through. They played Mordecai as an encore, a song that I never thought I'd hear live again!

I'm not a huge fan of Clairvoyant but I have to say it translated really well live. Toothgrinder and Polyphia were good too. All in all, super awesome night.

e: been listening to the new Trivium today, and it is fuckloads better than their last 2

When they did the Colors tour the first time like 10 years ago, one of the openers didn't make it and BTBAM played an entire second set of old songs to make up for it. It was the best.

I'm bummed I'm missing them on this tour but I saw them when they toured Colors the first time, so it's not the end of the world

Also the last time I saw them they played Selkies and they closed with Bohemian Rhapsody :hellyeah:

e: I'm pretty sure they're still sick Selkies but the fan demand was too high, or they've come around and realized "maybe the fact that it was our first album together doesn't preclude it from still being a really good song"
I remember last time I saw Thrice the dude was like "yeah I used to really hate this song so we stopped playing it for like 5 years but we tried it at practice and we like it again now so here's Deadbolt" it was p. great

Trivium has taken such a weird loving route with the sound in their albums. It sounds like this one should have come after In Waves in terms of composition and song-writing.

It's not bad, actually has some good songs on it. Once again though, I must repeat that nothing will ever top Shogun :allears:

Vengeance Falls was seriously one of the most disappointing releases I can remember ever listening to. I am one of the few people that absolutely loving loves In Waves and was floored by how terrible VF was in comparison. gently caress off forever Draiman.

Silence in the Snow is fine enough for what it is I guess, just not my cup of tea. This one is really good though and I can see it growing even more on me
