The worst episode of this season of Rick and Morty is not only written by a male writer but written by these awful fans' idol Harmon himself lol

from the article I linked, you no article clicking motherfuckers posted:What’s more, it was patently wrongheaded. As Harmon pointed out, the trolls’ ire was evidence of their “total ignorance of how television works”. Television is a collaborative medium and a credit is usually just a reward for one writer doing what Harmon calls “grunt work” – developing the outline of an episode, for example. “I want to scream at my computer: ‘You idiots, we all write the show together!’”

Also, at least on Community, Dan would give every script a final pass or two before (or during) shooting. Not sure if that’s the case for Rick & Morty or not.

Bronies made the show, and all discourse about it, about themselves instead. Obviously there were some misguided Browncoats and Trekkies and what have you but there were never this many, and they were never this vocal--until Bronies came around and made it publicly acceptable to be a lovely fan of something. Also I don't think it's that widespread a problem it's just that like anything, the internet amplifies the worst voices and nerds always turn against shows in season 3.

While obviously the internet has the ability to highlight stuff that was always there and probably isn't as big as it seems when you zero in, there's probably a lot to say for the internet making it worse because it becomes so easy to hook up and reinforce each other. Like, without the internet there might have been dudes who want to bang cartoons, but they probably never would have found each other or actually gotten porn cartoons without really, really putting themselves out there and looking at great personal cost and risk. Like I imagine pre-internet a Trekkie Convention was like an onion and every layer you peel off just gets to a smaller, more twisted subset of the fanbase obsessing about something more disturbing in some grimy hotel room. Now the internet is just one big convention with Twitter. STAC Goat fucked around with this message at 20:25 on Oct 5, 2017 |

The real problem is that when you're no longer contained to a grimy hotel room it becomes normalized and then suddenly there's multiple people marrying stuffed horse dolls (and worse) because, poo poo man, that guy over there did it, so I'll do it too. It's also why the alt-right and tea party had such huge movements, and how Donald loving Trump was elected goddamn president. The internet was a mistake.

I don't think I can ever watch anything Dan Harmon related again. He's such a creepy, insecure weirdo. It was a few years back, I guess there was some sort of "HarmonCon" or whatever. The girl that organized the event apparently insulted/criticized Harmon about something (it doesn't really matter). Then Harmon came back at her with his own childish insults... it was all petty as gently caress, but really no big deal. The thing that got me was how he explained it all after the fact. I'm slightly paraphrasing here, "She came after me, so I had to punish her for it". I specifically remember the phrase "punish her for it" and the way he said it. He had this giddy, flippant facial expression, completely void of any empathy. It seriously made me feel sick to my stomach.

I made some joke critical tweet to Harmon a couple months ago and a day later he said he was blocking anyone he thought was criticising him. Not long after I got a "sounds like criticism to me!" reply and he'd blocked me. I laughed and thought nothing of it but then someone who follows us both let me know he wasn't even replying to that tweet but actually a different joke tweet from back in FEBRUARY. Like, was he just keeping a record of this stuff?

Netflix is raising its price by 2 bucks. “From time to time, Netflix plans and pricing are adjusted as we add more exclusive TV shows and movies, introduce new product features and improve the overall Netflix experience to help members find something great to watch even faster,” a Netflix spokesperson said in a statement to The Verge. Look we get that prices go up, don't frame it like you're doing it for our benefit. Arist posted:Sausage Party has an 82% on RT It's Rogen and Goldberg so they have a pretty good resume.
