Well, they've established it as existing in TNO, they might be saving it for a future game. As for Venus, from what I gathered it was in the planning stages in-universe, so maybe not the most likely.

I'm watching the guy richie King Arthur movie and it is eerily like Wolf TNO stylistically. Lots of strumming bass guitar with background fiddle while people explain plans that are happening onscreen at the same time. It's like *exactly* the same. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkNYkwMbl0U

sure of course, but it happens like 5 times over the course of TNO and about 5 times over the course of that movie, its not just an element but a fundamental part of how they tell their stories. plus the music is so similar. its a fun coincidence.

I think the funniest thing about this is that the US being controlled by literal Nazis was a plot element of The New Order around the time that Obama was reelected.

yeah. the alt right nazi poo poo grew(well more obvious and "for real") in late 2015 early 2016. i noticed /v/ threads that would poo poo on the game and threads like that would be spammed around that time. its so bad now that they can sorta openly poo poo on it.

I really miss Dino DDay now. An awesome game about killing (or being) Nazis, Dinosaurs, and Nazi Dinosaurs. Also some incredible background dialog and chatter. Also one of the characters had a berserk mode you could activate that would let you OHKO a Nazi iconography adorned Trex with a punch to the snout as a patriotic American tune played in the background. (This wasnt, like, a cut scene, that was a pretty common occurence for me)

For those of you looking for other Nazi-killin' murder simulators (of various quality), Ubersoldier 2 is on Steam and it's pretty entertaining. It's got hilariously awful voice acting, but the superpowers are fun to use and it's got some good setpiece action bits. It's pretty much a proto-Wolf09, in that it predates it, has a similar tone, is nowhere near as polished, and Wolf09's Veil powers are pretty much copied wholesale from Ubersoldier 2.

For those that want to know the answer to the question, "what if Wolf TNO came out 10 years earlier, and wasn't very good?", look no further than Turning Point: Fall of Liberty. On paper the game has a lot of neat ideas - the Nazi weapons, vehicles, and even their uniforms are based on historically documented stuff the Nazis were working on and intended to roll out had the war gone more in their favor. You can tell the developers did a lot of research and actually gave a poo poo.
The problem is, all the good intentions and historical research in the world can't make up for a lack of skill at making a good game. The AI is garbage, the shooting mechanics aren't particularly fun and makes the AI a chore to fight, and the characters and writing are half-baked at best. There's a bunch of setpieces that COULD have been really awesome and visually striking, if the game engine wasn't so mediocre and unpolished. Like the opening level where you're on a high-rise in Manhattan when a Nazi air assault happens could have been goddamn awesome. There's these small glimmers of brilliance where you can tell that the developers had strong ideas of what they wanted to achieve, but just lacked the technical ability to realize it. The game isn't unplayable, but it skirts the line a couple times.

I'd say it's worth playing if you can find it for dirt-cheap and you're really hard-up for a new Nazi-killin' game; I found I got the most enjoyment out of it by setting my expectations bedrock-low and viewing the game through the lens of "what were the developers trying to achieve?" and letting my imagination run wild, and trying to not focus on the janky gameplay.

The Saboteur is fantastic, and still my favorite open-world game to date. It's one of the few ones where killing enemies and clearing out outposts means they stay dead, so scrubbing the map clean of the Nazi scourge feels like you're making tangible progress.
It's also got some choice one-liners - one of the random lines your character can say after killing a Nazi is, "One down, a million to go."

Preach it, brother. Amen. :hellyeah:

What's on your mind, Axa?
I need to try Ubersoldier 2 again, it has an absolutely terrible opening sequence with a jeep that I had huge trouble getting past. And I think there might have been a difficulty bug? I'd choose new game, choose normal difficulty, get through the first part, die, and then when I restarted (at the beginning, of course) I'd have trouble getting past that first part again until I stopped, went to the main menu and started over again with the normal difficulty.

I need to pick up Zombie Army Trilogy, I got the first Nazi Zombie Army, and, well, it's really made for co-op and people who care about the mechanics of sniping, but I hear ZAT tweaked things a bit?

I've been playing solo with the trilogy and it's been hectic but manageable with a few rough spots where a partner would've come in handy. You can tune the shooting mechanics so they're more arcade-y "bullet goes where crosshairs are" or you can go the opposite direction and have to worry about bullet drop, weapon sway, character heart rate, and I think weather conditions too. Personally, I go for slightly arcade-y.

The Saboteur does a good job of making you feel weak and gradually empowering you. Yeah it feels like you get railroaded into stealth a lot in the early game, but know that the game DOES let you "go loud" as you acquire more tools and abilities.
It also makes thematic sense - BJ Blazcowicz you are not, you're just some dude starting with nothing in goddamn Nazi-occupied Paris, trying to topple the regime from within. It makes it feel really rewarding when you earn the tools necessary to really wreck Nazis indiscriminately.

I never got a chance to play it before all copies of it disappeared everywhere.

It's one of those games like Singularity or Dark Void where once you play it now, you wonder why it wasn't more popular. Then you realize it was $60 when it came out and it wasn't really worth $60.

Now that I think about it, the "glut" of WW2 games that people used to love bitching about doesn't really seem so huge. I just really hope we get Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory 2 before I die.

i have gotten pretty far by just shooting. then again i am playing on piss easy mode so thats probaly it. still fun. its kinda interesting seeing 2008s ideas of "maturity" with the poo poo tons of nudity and swearing and poo poo. 2009-20010 (maybe add a year or so) EA went full out on tits everywhere. its interesting/amusling akward looking back on it.

Replay The Old Blood and see what happens when you cross slapstick with apocalyptic tones. There's something hilarious about BJ sawing off a shotgun barrel only to see a zombie and then start sawing even faster. Or watching Helga try to control a monstrosity while quietly undoing your chains with a rusty pipe. Or a teleporting drunk who somehow makes it to your destination before you do.
