So I touched the poop. A while back I friended someone from high school a lot actually cause it was our 20 year reunion and they all wanted to catch up. I Over a couple of year ago I guess the entire class got nostalgic and they sent me friend request. These are people who I have literally never heard from in 2 decades. Most seem like they peaked in high school, but I guess those are the people that do reunions. Mort sent me her invite and I decline cause seriously gently caress you, you're a lovely human being. She called me apologised and said that she had been terrible during high school but that was over and she was now a teacher and saw bullying from a different perspective. Never one to hold a grudge I accepted. Oh man she is still lovely. Except now she is lovely to kids and homeless people. She quit her job as a teacher and took a higher paying job doing god knows what. She post pictures of her son and talks about him like he was her boyfriend. When my wife and I post of our kid she posted on her wall saying how proud she was to be part of the Hot Moms clubs and that being a mom in her early 20s was the best. I talked to her and she said she didn't mean it about us and that it was just her being her. Then she started posting about the horrible immigrants and how come they can't go to their own countries and be a burden on their government, also homeless people. She would post poo poo about homeless people and how they smell and how they get in her way. Today she posted a similar rant. I am Terry Bull and maybe I should have loving stopped earlier. Since then her other friends have been spamming me telling me that I shouldn't judge her and that I am idiot for not realising that homeless people make millions of dollars and only a few are "truly homeless". Remind me never to talk to anyone from High School again.

Should have asked her why she hates our veterans so much and enjoyed the ride.

Nice name/username combo. And yeah, people who are bullies as adolescents are generally not the kind of people you want to reunite with. A couple of months ago one of my main elementary/middle school bullies messaged me on FB with a half-assed apology. I just ignored it, it's not my responsibility to soothe his conscience and I certainly don't want to see or talk to him again. Not to criticize you, just saying, there's no reason to feel guilty about not giving people a second chance.

I had someone who made my life hell for a year give a heartfelt apology, I accepted it and we moved on. I'll never be friends with him or even like him but the apology was sincere enough to give it a pass.

I was bullied through my whole public school life, but some of the people I had issues with got their poo poo figured out after reaching adulthood and we can at least be aquatinted now. Also, my best friend had extreme anger issues as a kid to the point of being expelled from multiple schools and Baker Acted at 11. She managed to overcome pretty much everything, become self-sufficient at 18, and is now an extremely kind young woman with a successful entertainment career. I was shocked to learn about her past because of how copacetic she is.

And getting together with other people who also like those things to talk about the things that you like? loving magical. Big fan. Everyone should do it. It's fun and good and keeps you grounded in a shared understanding of the place of modern culture and art. Oh yeah, hyperbole aside, genuinely enjoying things is great and I much prefer that than trying to act superior to people for enjoying whatever dumb thing they're into and claiming that they're better because they hate everything including the things they like. Unless it's someone trying to claim that things are way more intelligent and sophisticated than they are. Or just trying to argue that actually the reason why she doesn't have any armor on is to distract enemies and furthermore-

Rick & Morty shows that the smartest guy in the room is also an unlikable rear end in a top hat who's dooming himself to be alone forever because he can't stop being an antisocial dickweed for long enough to get anybody to like him. The fanbase has instead taken this as "Rick is awesome because he's a misanthropic genius, and I'm a misanthropic genius in my own head! You're all useless and I can prove it mathematically! Wubba-lubba-dub-dub!"

FillInTheBlank posted:Since when was Rick & Morty alt-right even in the slightest? Its not, but people love to misinterpret things when it makes them feel better about themselves. Rick is a bad man, and a tragic character. He hates himself and the rest of the world. The only thing he cares for is the family that he pushes away. "Wubba lubba dub-dub", his wacky trademark catchphrase, translated from an alien language means "I am in great pain. Please help me." In one episode he gets wasted and kills himself because he is so miserable over loving his life up. And yet folks somehow worship Rick as a nerd power fantasy. Its like how a pro-war Republican can play "Born in the USA" during a campaign rally.
