My guess is that because Netflix likes to think of itself as an Actual TV Network and not just a streaming service, that the rights situation is different.

That was a cool write-up and I def wanna check out the show when i get some free time next. Ideally in that situation as a viewer, I'd much prefer the anime goes on hiatus for a bit to get their feet under them but sadly this is not a perfect world
