PostNouveau posted:The episode last night was alright. Lisa tries to draw a comic for therapy but can't draw, so Marge does the illustrations for her. Other people see it, and it becomes a hit. Then there's a sharp left turn 2/3rds of the way through the episode where some Broadway weirdo turns it into a play. this probably isn't total poo poo because the plot is so character-driven. it makes sense that lisa the overambitious wunderkind would be in therapy, and while it might not make perfect sense that marge would draw for her, it would make sense that people would love marge's art considering she's a good enough artist for burns to have hired her to make his self-portrait

The play twist was very late, but it turned a conflict about Marge feeling bad because the fans only cared to talk to Lisa on its head because the producer only cared about bringing Marge's art style to life and nothing at all about the plot. All-in-all, not the lowest point of the Simpsons.

Is that where he proudly exclaims he'll be in the back seat of his car and won't be back for five minutes? That cracked me up when I watched it and then me Ma and Da started ribbing me for "getting" a sex joke. Then there was the episode where Home was maybe going to have an affair and he started making jokes about calling a "Hotline" and it made us all uncomfortable because it was the worlds worst kept secret that every teenage lad would furiously jack it to that show on Channel 5 which, in its infancy, was basically just a channel for softcore skinflicks.

Him and Marge bang, and they agree to keep doing it on the sly. The animators have occasionally acknowledged this over the years with a series of Easter Eggs that hint at the progress of their relationship in the background.

The episode where Bart goes to fat camp was on today. What a mess of an episode. There's some dated hip hop jokes, a zany fat camp counsellor whose character is all over the place, and jokes about German people not washing, because that's some sort of crazy stereotype? Also the one with Ray Romano was on, although I didn't pay much attention. Loved the plug for Everybody Loves Raymond over the credits. Really gave it a timeless feel.

Probably the worst Fat Tony episode is the one where he dies 3/4 of the way through the episode and is replaced by his cousin Fit Tony, who starts to eat due to stress and eventually starts being called Fat Tony.

Bart goes to the eye doctor to get tested and looks into a Phoropter that teleports him to the future. His only way home is to find a time traveling dog and apologize to a girl he made fun of in the waiting room. Guest starring Cathy Bates as herself.

They did it again a couple of years ago when the Simpsons got kicked out of town and moved to the "outlands" but eventually everyone else moved out there too and just recreated Springfield until it was exactly the same.
