Maybe they'll capture each other but the caps will break so they become stuck in their new bodies. then it cuts to 10 years later and yeah, that's right, this was the prequel to Super Mario Sunshine and Bowser Jr. really is the spawn of Mario-Bowser and Peach

It's better than just having large areas for the heck of it, especially if those are the first areas of the game. Wouldn't be surprised if last one is also a small pure-platforming level ala Bowser levels from 64.

Yea seems like the kingdoms have varying sizes basically depending on how much fun the devs felt they could get out of them. Makes sense that, say, 'city funtime Mario' would be fairly big but some more niche ones get smaller. If that's the way I'm into that, I'd rather have smaller fun environments than bloated ones that dampen the fun.

Iirc from other previews Cappy tells Mario they can find a working airship in 'the next kingdom over' so I guess there must be some other way to travel between Cascade and Bonneton? Are they functionally the same kingdom? does Bonneton have it's own purple currency? I don't remember seeing it yet

It's rusted over and all rocky and junk. Roughly 15-19 moons in Bonneton and 26 in Cascade iirc.
