Really stupid question. I have the Instagram app, yet I only have 7 of the selfie/face filters and everyone I know has lots more. I've tried deleting and reinstalling the app, restarting, removing my beta profile, all to no success. Is there some secret I'm missing to getting them to appear?

When applying a filter to a photo, scroll your filters all the way to the right. See an option to manage your filters? Are they all checked or just some? E: oh this might be different than the selfie/face filters

hey girl you up posted:I dunno, they both kinda suck. Apple's policy is v straightforward if strict: you want to sell any form of digital stuff to use on an iphone, apple gets 30%. Amazon would rather not give Apple its profits on reselling digital stuff, so instead they make their app way crappier to use. Apple says that they're passing on 70% when they sell stuff in their own store, why should they give up even more just to let someone shop at a competitor. They're both middlemen trying to take a cut and consumers get the short end. Apple did change it so that if you have a subscription charge that a user holds for over a year, the percentage drops to 15%. I’ll also point out the Google Play and Amazon App stores both also take 30%, so it’s not like it’s poor old Amazon being picked on by Apple...

IIRC Google lets developers implement their own in app purchases thus avoiding the cut. On iOS Apple doesn’t let that happen so it’s either pay up or not offer IAP at all.

Are there any podcast apps that work with Siri? Like I could say hey Siri play podcasts on [Podcast App 1] or whatever. I was fine with the stock app until iOS 11.

No. Siri only integrates with a few types of "intents", and audio playback isn't one of them. Don't worry, though. If you want to show people a QR code, Siri has you covered. What an exciting world.

Fix that poo poo, Facebook! I’ve always used the Amazon app because it’s a better experience than using the site on an iPad. They just released a new update that disables landscape mode. Why? Now the app is obnoxious to use.

Press “+” to add a photo and just pick a random one. 2. On the screen where you can choose filters scroll all the way to the right and press “manage.” 3. Select the filters you want to show up. Remove the ones you don’t want. I think that’s what you mean?

I just checked mine and I counted 19, and I’m pretty sure this is the first time I’ve even presses the camera button cause I always just add pictures taken from the regular camera app. I don’t see an immediate way to modify the available filters, so I’m just gonna assume that if you only have 7 filters then you’re just an unlucky person who didn’t fall into the group(s) that they’ve rolled them out to (yet). Either that or maybe some filters require minimum hardware? I have a 6S.

Has anyone removed Apple Maps since that became an option? I never use it but everything defaults to it. Wanted to know if removing it broke anything deep down or if apps and whatnot will just go to Google Maps going forward.

Removing a default app does not make apps go to another app, no. They will just not do anything unless there is an option built into the app for Google Maps, and you'll still have to pick it manually every time.
