If you look back at old forum threads for last year's Merlin banner I'm sure you'll see just as much salt as NA had for Tamamo, and next year's inevitable Apocalypse banner is going to put that to shame. Perhaps knowing more about the characters' strength in advance affects things a little, but this is a waifu game; I think we'd have seen exactly the same responses to the Halloween gatcha if Tamamo had only been a mid-tier 5*.

I roll on whatever dumb characters I want and only roll for tiers when I don't have anything I really want otherwise. Like, I rolled for Moriarty despite the fact he is not an amazing 5* Archer because he's cool as hell and I wanted him. I rolled for Ruler Martha on a banner knowing that Artoria Archer was objectively the better get and still kept rolling after I got the latter because I wanted my punch waifu. People on the JP side roll and spend money on waifus and husbandos more often than caring about tiers. Hell, caring about tiers has done me worse than rolling for characters I like as the recent Merlin banner showed me.

Only roll for those you care about. I wouldn't use a top tier character if I didn't like them, even if they were brokenly OP. That's just me though.

Having poo poo you care about is more important than having blatantly good stuff you have no real investment in, but if good stuff is what you care about that's fine too. You should care about gilgamesh though because he is the goat

I'm excited for the upcoming Scathach banner; but mostly because I want the 2030 CE. I'd love making a team with Tamamo, Jeanne, support Jeanne, all using 2030 and with the Jeannes' first skill maxed. 48 crit stars every turn, non-stop Arts chain crits and being invulnerable and/or being healed every other turn. I guess I'd also need to wait for Jeanne's strengthening that removes the NP stun demerit. It would take me a million years to kill anything even with crits, but I still would love trying it.

Not gonna lie, I'm in this game for the waifus. That fact has probably helped me spend less money on this game, since I don't have the "I NEED this specific character to be competitive..." excuse like I would in other games. Having the God units honestly takes a bit of fun out of the game since you feel like you're strictly downgrading using anything other than the absurd cheese setups like Jalter + x2 Merlin.

I tried to roll for Tamamo after all and got my second Jeanne instead. +500 HP healed doesn't seem very exciting considering a lot of my servants now have HP in the five digit range, but the +10% to defense is neat I guess?

I just got through Camelot and yeah, the balancing in this game really rules, especially for a phone game. I get to use my ridiculous amount of Berserkers and can still clear the hardest stuff in the game, and the game gives you Mash who can carry basically any team. That said, some of the fights in Camelot really sucked and I hope the game takes a step back a bit, I'm ok with occasional stuff like Gawain but when it got boss rushy it got a little exhausting. Also I rerolled on NA because I hadn't logged in in months anyway and got Tamamo in the first single pull after getting Herc and 2x Stheno in the forced 10 pull. I guess that's where my gacha luck has been this whole time.

In all honesty, I agree with this. After getting my Merlin in the gacha a month or two ago, I drastically lowered my pace in playing the game.

I rolled for Tamamo not because she's a great support unit, but because she's my favority from Extra, which was the first (only) Type Moon game I had played up to that point (Didn't actually finish her route, just kinda put it down when I got to week 6). I'll probably toss a ten roll at both Scathach and Gudaguda banners, but I'm not really too interested in them. Christmas will probably see me whaling a bit, not because Jack is the best assasin (though that would be nice), but because I kinda like the character (will keep her on stage 1 sprite/art though, if I get her). London 1 will probably get a bit for a chance at Mordred and Fran, but even just getting a Babbage would be cool. Roll for who interests you, not the best dudes. I'm trying to rush through the Halloween event on NA and story Vlad dropped a Halloween Princess, judging by this thread I dodged a bit of a bullet there. Need to take a break and grind some EXP hands though, level 12 Tamamo and Herc aren't really contributing at this point.

Yeah, everybody in every game like this has a general idea of what's coming and people will always save. Know the source material? Chances are at some point something you like from it will exist in the gacha. See something cool as an NPC in a gacha event? Chances are you'll be able to roll for it one day (or not). NA's only advantage is having a rough timeline rather than "I may be saving for years, but dammit I want my muramasa" or whatever. Most people didn't save for tama because she's good but because she has a decent fanbase. It's probably the same for anybody saving for jalter or whoever else.

Hahaha yep Not even a level 90 Gil can carry me hard enough to clear these missions versus Kiyohime, my Servants just don't have the levels. That's fine, I got all the candy and copies of Liz that I needed, so nothing else this event is going to be painfully missable. I can pour the rest into copies of Halloween Princess and Exp cards.
