I’m cool with my $90 purchase giving me between 30-40 hours of gameplay every two months, but Ive also been playing Diablo 3 since launch, so I understand that sometimes you just can’t go any higher

I think abgd has valid points, not sure why he's the villain of the thread. I preordered this game for PC but I share the same concerns. I'm perplexed as to why the loot system was changed. I thought it gave the first game a decent amount of depth. Its also strange that things like artifacts have been apparently removed. I put about 400 hours into the first game over a 2 year period which I felt like was a good investment. A lot of that time was spent grinding out better loot which may not appeal to everyone but I don't think it was necessary for every player to enjoy or progress the game. I bought D2 because its a coop FPS first and a dungeon crawler second. I feel like abgd's assessment is that its fine as a spaceman shooting game, but the expectations were clearly higher and Bungie hasn't delivered on those expectations yet. Hopefully they will in an update!

I play on PS4 and I really enjoy the game but basically agree with everything ABGD is saying. You should be able to get 100-150+ hours of fun(which is really good for a AAA title imo) from the game beyond that not so much, the first DLC should change that. Most of the saltiness/complaints come from people who dropped over 1000+ hours in D1 over 3 years, I think alot of us(me included) expected the same thing out of the gate and it just didn't happen. The game is great and you will enjoy it. Anyway during the campaign you get a choice of an exotic weapon from a vendor and pickup sunshot you will not be disappointed. texaholic fucked around with this message at 02:14 on Oct 24, 2017 |

D2 is great, it gave me more than a hundred hours of gameplay, same as D1 and it's expansions, but one thing has to be addressed: PVP. Bungie trying to push this as an esports game (Activision may have a hand in this) really impacted the fun factor of Destiny PVP for the worse. I still bought the PC version even though I had the PS4 version because of the PC improvements and the game is actually fun to play with friends/goons/randos and I hope they fix some of the issues in PVP with the next expansion and not wait until next September's new expansion to tackle them.

OK great works of art sometimes take some time but it's done before the game came out. I didn't play Dest1ny but I put that 2 hour long lore video on in the background so I'm p sure I at least know enough to get that the master chief riding a sparrow hookin up the traveler with a delivery dog is canon-ish:

I bought the game even with my reservations - if I get 50-60 hours out of a game + DLCs later on then it's fine with me. I "only" got 150 hours outta the original w/ expacs so 50-60 out of the base is good with me. Plus, Mario and Wolfenstein come out this week too.

Emotes, shaders, sparrows, ships, exotic weapon skins, bright dust for the Tess store. The thing you should watch out for in your bright engrams is an exotic sparrow. They're the fastest by a small margin and I guess that comes in handy during SRL, which usually happens around Christmas time. I got one fairly quickly but as always with RNG, ymmv

I keep giving ABGD a hard time because he pops up twice a page with “It’s poo poo!” Every fifth to tenth page he elaborates that it’s actually pretty good for 100 or so hours. For 98% of the people who buy the game 100 hours is going to take them to February. At which point (or earlier) they will wander off for something else like normal people and be quite happy with their experience. All ABGD is doing is scaring people for whom his warnings are not intended. The people looking for D2 to hold their hand and comfort them into their golden years are likely already well aware of the issues because they are that kind of person.
