iospace posted:I need the whole story please. As an outsider to all this but here's what I gathered, I acknowledge could be wrong about this though: When Spike was doing submissions for the first Smut Peddler, Josh tried to submit I believe either this comic or a similar one to her: http://yousuck.sexy Spike rejects it because she feels it's too rapey. Josh apparently never let that go and spends a long time harassing her. At around the same time he is apparently "let go" from Slipshine (He first said that he left willingly but would later say it wasn't his choice) All of this comes to a head yesterday, when while discussing the new Patreon rules on pornography tries to subtweet her: https://twitter.com/superhappy/status/922384529494499328 One of her friends notices however and basically calls him out for how he harassed her over the years since then. After that it just started slowly bubbling until tonight when he sent that lovely message to her and she couldn't take it anymore. Right now he is apparently in the hospital, his friends called 911 and a local webcomic artist went to his house.

He did start Slipshine, I know that, but I believe there's a team now. That is the only information I really have, otherwise I don't no exactly what happened. As far as I can tell from past tweets he left but says it wasn't entirely amicable, so I'm guessing his coworkers just got tired of working with him. Considering the way he acts I don't blame them. cartoons123 fucked around with this message at 15:01 on Oct 25, 2017 |

See I often feel the opposite- live action stuff too often is exploitive, demeaning, and skeevy. With comics if you find good authors or groups of authors (specifically like the ones that rejected Josh's submissions) it's much more enjoyable.

I wouldn't call Lesnick's art "fantastic" but it's certainly it's own thing and when it works it works. (I read and enjoyed 'Girly' for most of its run (it was a simpler time in webcomics), but 'You Suck' is definitely in the 'why you even got to do a thing' category)

DoubleCakes posted:"Why do people like this porn comic?" If that's directed my way, it's the webcomic part that confuses me. It's not about the fact that it's porn, it's just that most webcomics update, what, one or two times a week? Maybe three? If you have a sex scene that lasts, say, six or seven pages, that's like three weeks before you can enjoy the scene as a whole. I had the same issue when Blaster Nation ended and I checked out their other comic to see if it was worth following, they spent nearly two months on a single sex scene. I can see people enjoying it during an archive binge or something but that sounds miserable to sit through, especially given that the comic appears to have an actual story it's trying to tell that apparently constantly gets put on hold for a month or two so people can gently caress.
