another way of looking at it is that your cell phone has a ~1200mAh battery in it, and it turns like 95% of that energy into heat (the rest into small amounts of sound and light). if it takes your phone 24 hours to run out a charge then it's dissipating heat at the same rate as your heater watch. so basically just strap your phone to your wrist and you'll get the same results, plus also it's a phone

Shifty Pony posted:theoretically you could gently caress with someone's perception of temperature and make them feel more warm or cold by strategically heating or cooling sensitive areas. I bet you could even get the body to overreact and actually cause skin temperatures to temporarily get colder or warmer as a result. my idea: electromagnetic coils that you wear on your head that trick your brain into thinking that you're warmer/cooler than you are. heat stroke and hypothermia are not our problem

you'd think a thermal device would have an ergonomic fit instead of being a flat plane. in practically every picture it looks like a terrible nonconforming fit. it's so wide it's like a goddamn graduation cap also man running scams is easy nowadays.

When rubbed, it swings playfully. And, it occasionally wags just to say hello. It’s a comforting communication that warms your heart the way animals do. Final glowforge update for a while since I cancelled and got my money back (trying to figure out which account to Check after two years and multiple card replacements sure is fun though). The new account only, ultra personalized delivery estimate has been fully realized: now instead of making large, public delay announcements that will get picked up by tech sites and rile people up and cause preorders to be cancelled, they can just randomly, silently, push people back 10 or 14 days when the algorithm for shipping estimates isn’t looking too hot. I think most honestly thought these dates would only get updated to be sooner as time went on. Also the software still is in significantly beta state, with no estimate on when they’d be publically releasing the code and firmware, as originally promised.

int. a pathetic third rate startup incubator boardroom. 15 million merits has just finished playing on the washed out, stained svga projector screen. roided up crazy man turns to the audience of blase, trust fund man-children: "in conclusion, that (pointing to the screen) but without porn or glass shard rants."

I ran across this special kickstarter while searching sold prices for a camera. Did anyone want a digital camera with a tiny sensor that requires you to carry around and swap little plastic cartridges in to change between color, monochrome, various speeds and square format? What if it was made by the corpse of a once good brand that was bought up for the name by a multi-billion dollar company? Even better it has only one aperture and is being advertised in a fair few places with publications falling all over the brand name (Yashica is back! Ignore that they aren't really, we got paid a lot for this!). No review screen, no delete button and a few spiels about "purity" and "passion" and so on. For their efforts towards making digital as inconvenient as film I'd just imagine people would go buy an old used film camera and film and have the same experience for way less money.
