From the way it sounds it's not like you're going to be alive long enough to enjoy the money anyway. May as well spend it now if it makes you that happy.

I never said I have an issue with people buying or even enjoying this game - newsflash: I've already done both. What I don't get is what do you accomplish by purchasing multiple copies or owning it on every available system right out of the gate?

Is spending 3x, 4x, 5x times what you planned to spend on this really going to make you that happy? What are you trying to accomplish? What does it signify?

Is it possible to both donate some free time to activists leftist causes while ALSO unwinding at night with a cold beer and playing a video game about killing Nazis?

I think so. It’s worth a try. I plan to buy the game as soon as it comes out, which I almost never do, because gently caress Nazis and anyone who supports them (also because it’s a fun video game).

The cutscenes in this game are so epic! I’m glad they decided to have way more noninteractive story than actual gameplay and shooting. It’s an incredible game, and at 5 hours long, it works perfect for my schedule. Bethesda does it again!

Fine, fair enough. People are free to spend their money as they please. So long as you are happy with your decisions then that's what really matters.

For those of you who think I'm angry and buying this game makes it worse. Please, continue to do so. Support the economy and piss me off, it's win-win.

I'm honestly curious if this is the case and wolf falls into mostly cutscenes interspaced with small gun battles like most AAA titles are want to do.

I tired playing TNO again but lost interest cause holy cutscenes batman. Also everything is sad and miserable. I've been spoiled by DOOM which is just straight fun with only jump puzzles in between.

to address the whole "buying this doesn't actually hurt Nazis" thing: yeah, actually, it kind of does

if a piece of media advertises itself on the basis of "gently caress NAZIS" and proceeds to make poo poo-tons of money, suddenly a whole lot of other media creators have an incentive to make stuff with a general thrust of "gently caress NAZIS" because they'll wanna chase the money. and pop culture tends to reflect and influence actual culture, so a massive wave of anti-Nazi media will make it pretty trendy to violently hate Nazis again.

will one person's purchase of Wolfenstein 2 end neo-Nazism? gently caress no, that's stupid. but if the game does well in general and prompts a wave of similar stuff, it could end up snowballing into a bigger deal, and that's worth considering.

From the couple of reviews I read, it sounds like it's very similar to the first game, design-wise. I was hoping the levels would be a little more open or labyrinthine, but RPS describes it as largely a "corridor shooter." Between when I played TNO and now, I finally got into old-Doom and its numerous mods, and have ended up gravitating towards that style of map design/enemy encounters so while I'm gonna pick up TNC when I get home today, I have a feeling Dusk will end up being my FPS of the year.

I don't think it had too many cutscenes but I do think it had too many down moments which were basically walking/talking cutscenes. I liked the idea of the base but it sometimes felt like too much downtime for when I just wanted to shoot a nazi.

Agreed, I played through the whole thing last week and never once did I even think about the amount of cutscenes or wish that I could just get to the Nazi-killing. Hell I spent about an hour fixing an audio desync that was only happening in cutscenes so it can't have bothered me that much.

Seriously guys if you want to see cutscene hell then pull out a copy of MGS4

I find Wolfensteins cutscenes and story to be actually some of the best examples of videogame cinematic storytelling out there so I dont get why you guys are upset at a good thing.

Like seriously wolfensteins cutscenes (especially the one thats coming out) are really top notch. there's really nothing quite like it and it really elevates it to an actual good film with interesting ideas. Blaskowitz himself is an incredibly compelling character in the fact that he's so simple but the way they explore him is really awesome.

I mean, if you just want to shoot a Nazi there are plenty of games to do that. The New Order was about shooting a Nazi by way of a broken man filled with nothing but rage and a hollow yearning for a vague ideal life he knows he'll never have and you need some downtime to create that.

Edit: lol if you didn't just start shooting in the stealth segments so you could kill even more Nazis

The cutscenes are still the same as ever, but they've greatly reduced the number of scripted cutscenes (ie the Train and underwater sections from TNO) and there's no stealth only areas from what I've seen.
