It would be cool to have had these become a full comic, looks to be a post-apocalyptic superhero science fantasy

Wow, I've only ever seen those two and never knew who had done them (despite his signature). That's actually the largest version of the Spider-Man one I've seen - I've missed so many of the details, especially on the mask around the eyes. I think for a long time I thought it was one of Del'Otto's pieces.

Punisher taking a cue from Tuskan Raiders there.

My friend has a Death tat and I showed him that picture just now. Turns out that is exactly where it's from. Of course, he makes the reveal as condescending as you'd expect from someone who got a Death tattoo in 1998.

The Punisher skull went through a period in the 80s of being weirdly abstract.

Having different people doing the penciling, inking and coloring is something that more or less only happens in the american comic industry.

Robin only looks small because they've become giants in that picture, the Gotham skyline is not in the distance it's below their feet

Just got done re-reading Walt Simonson's Thor run on Unlimited. It's still an absolute masterpiece, but MAN is it jarring seeing the issues that are re-colored vs. the ones that aren't. I honestly prefer the old versions - the new ones look too filtered and fake. There's a bigger sense of realism in the old version, and you can really get a better sense of Walt's dynamic artwork. The story is still amazing, but the new coloring just takes something away from it all :(

That guy was already a villain in Action Comics #1; Superman is smashing his car for not taking no for an answer from Lois when hitting on her at a party.

Don't you tell me my business again.
You guys were mentioning Silver Surfer. I always liked John Buscema except he came off as sort of "generic comic book artist", which I guess is because he was basically the blueprint for Marvel's house style in the 70's; but his work on Silver Surfer really shined. Something about the grace and posture he brought to the character seemed to really fit him.

Not sure if I've brought him up before but I've always really loved P. Craig Russell, especially the stuff he did on Elric.

I would liked to have seen what he could do with the Surfer. This is all I could find

For any one who remembers "Here's my Sunday best!" or as I always heard it, "here's my Sunday brunch!" Ours wasn't a church going family so the phrase "Sunday best" wasn't something I learned until later.
Anyway, this gun wasn't just something that the game devs pulled out of their rear end to give Iron Man a super move. It's from a classic issue.

From Iron Man #294, also the same issue that features the Technovore, for anyone who saw that episode of Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

I love the thought and details that goes into incorporating characters into fighters.

Like how Sabretooths special/tag from MvC2 featured Birdie who had all of like 5 appearances in the comics.

For the new DBZ fighter coming out next month, people have been posting videos and screencaps of the game footage to show that most of the characters' moves come directly from the manga. Not just the big ki attacks, either. All of their punches and kicks.

Cool panel(s).

Has Iron Man done anything super-badass and over the top like this and his super move since MvC etc? The only thing I could kinda think of was in World War Hulk where he has like an orbital satellite that blasts him IIRC.
