Every year I love watching the Diesel Power Challenge.

This year's competitors were pretty stout. The video of the sled pull with the 6.0 Ford is absolutely hilarious. Make sure you watch his whole pull and his interview after the pull.

This does nothing to change my opinion of people with train horns on their cars are dickheads who deserve to be dragged out in the street and shot.

Nah, nothing so severe as that. Just put their car on the train tracks where it belongs so it can use the horn properly.

I think I hear another gentleman with the same kind of horn coming!

I'll admit... probably half of those people deserved the long honk of shame.

Maybe not deserving of a train horn, but it definitely makes people poo poo themselves and GTFO.

... reminds me, I miss the Cadillac horns I had on my Altima. I should do something about that.

I've been meaning to grab some tritone caddy horns, but when I think about it, every time I have a real need for a loud and arresting horn, I'm too busy gripping the steering wheel and taking evasive action to get a honk out.

what?
I have never been comfortable with modern steering wheels where the airbag cover and horn button are the same thing. I prefer the way my old Crown Vic did it where the horn buttons were outside of the airbag area.

Clearly you need to get better at accelerating when you see a pedestrian enter a crosswalk or it looks like someone might pull out in front of you. Plan for it, then you'll be ready!

Both of my Civics were like that. My last 3 cars (including the current one) have the combo horn/airbag though.

I get a bit nervous about having the plastic badge right smack in the middle... I'm sure I'll wind up with it in my forehead if the airbag pops. That'll probably be the least of my worries at that point, but still.

I had dual tones on my old car, but they were still from a Caddy (1990 Deville).

I've found putting the phone down frees up a hand to lay on the horn :v:

My car automatically honks when you grip the wheel :smug:

And also sometimes when i use the steering wheel to get in an out of the car.

The entire inside of the steering wheel ring is the horn button, so anywhere you squeeze the steering wheel honks the horn. The horn button is over 2 feet long. It's the best.

didn't expect it to flip over like that but lol @ the announcer saying not to scratch the rims over the loudspeaker

and yeah, its an s13 which means its actually quite likely that they're used to regularly drifting around people sliding into walls right in front of them :snoop:

the hotrod went full hotrod. it looked like a cool build though. cars like that are probably death traps in any sort of collision
