Whenever I had that bug where stuff didn't render in I could shoot people behind cover most of the time.

When I get the loading bug which makes all the buildings show up as lowres ghosts I can shoot through walls and also walk through walls to grab stuff inside during the 1-3 mins it takes for the game to unfuck itself.

Usually not unless they enable an actual cheat. If they are trying to shoot you and your hear the bullet hit the cover between you and the bullet whiz, it means they aren’t seeing the texture on their screen and probably seeing blood splatter but the server knows you aren’t being hit.

Are you sure that the object didn't load entirely? (As in, even you couldn't collide with it). If that's the case, it makes sense. Otherwise, it's possible for an object not to render but still be used for collision detection.

Is it dumb that when I drop school I tend to go for the first floor if there’s a bunch of people? That tends to let me get a gun without it being a race to see what person on the roof gets one first.

I had buildings gently caress up halfway through a game and was able to murder people through objects that should have been there, this is pretty different though and I can imagine hit detection working properly since it's a case of setting poo poo so low that objects don't render unless you're zoomed in on them rather than something that's causing buildings to not load at all, or causing buildings to be offset some amount. I don't think the server does any "nah you aren't really being hit" outside of the anti-trade system. It would be good if it did because of poo poo like that clip of the guy going around the rock posted earlier.

How long ago was that? From what I've seen recently, you get the dual sounds when they most likely have the texture bug. Unfortunately, I don't have a clip or date when the last time that happened was. I had a dude crouched outside of the south-central Polyana apartments shoot my teammates on the third floor of the building he was next to, and the second floor of the next building over before I was able to get up to them from the west and shot him from the wall. Shooting through walls is certainly happening in some way.

If you're in it to clear out school, picking one of the second floor wings gives you more options. It's much safer to go down floors than up really, and specifically the furthest southwest room on the second floor is the safest spot in the whole building due to both accessibility in&out, and third person angles
