These tend to be the more 'storied' of the militia units like the Byzant Janizars, Geno Five-Two Chiliad, Selucid Thorakites, and Lucifer Blacks. I don't really read those books so I can't tell you more than that. I know the Geno Five-Two Chiliad and Lucifer Blacks get a good number of attention throughout the Alpha Legion and SoH books.

There are others, but none with Militia/Army front and center: Pharos to a certain degree, same with Mark of Calth. A few scattered but mostly great scenes in Prospero Burns. Also a bunch of Raven Guard stuff by Gav Thorpe, but it kind of sucks.

Legion was one of the best books in the Horus Heresy novel series, and actually focused on the Imperial Militia/Army more than it did the Alpha Legion. I highly recommend it.

 Here is my 30k Guilliman WIP in the interests of spreading the lurv. This is my LoW toxx for this year. The blue is Macragge Air over a black undercoat. The skin is Vallejo basic skin tone washed with reikland flesh shade and recovered with basic skin tone.

Here's my TSons Praetor I finished recently that most of you guys have probably already seen:   I had a hard time blending the white-black on the cloak. Is white usually harder to glaze with? The red was way easier
