Someone started making a documentary about The Room, a film notorious for its dreadfulness. The director of The Room, Tommy Wiseau, sued the producers of the documentary because he said they "mocked, derided and disparaged" him and the movie, and infringed copyright. The case was thrown out. The actual judge posted:The Room's fame rests on its apparently abysmal quality as a movie ... people flock to see The Room because it is so bad. People see the movie for the very purpose of mocking it; a phenomenon that has won the movie its cult status Also, the copyright bit got thrown out because the movie has been up on YouTube in its entirety for seven years.

wait what, i thought you could only lose trademarks like that e: apparently you can put things online for a bunch of years and if it doesnt get taken down, it enters the public domain in Canada (according to a journalist's interpretation of whatever the judge said anyway) quote:The judge also found the documentary did not infringe upon the copyright, as the film had been up in its entirety on YouTube for years. Greg Sestero (Mark) wrote the book and they're really tight so yeah I don't think he minds that one. If anything he's probably stoked about being portrayed by a big name Hollywood actor who is far younger and better looking.

He probably realized that he couldn't reach down to the ATM from his door, tried to back up, realized he couldn't get out because of the car behind him, tried to drive over the curb, nearly got stuck, then finally got back in line and angrily gunned it through and out the other side.
