Is .7 the latest version? I can only find any info about it from Nov 2016, and people only link to a download, not to the anything about the guy who made it.

Vice City is probably the GTA I spent the most time with, a lot of it just driving around, listening to the radio, wearing sunglasses at night.

If you do want to get Mudrunner, you will now get a 50% discount if you buy before November 30th. It's $14.99 so you can get it for $18.99 total instead of $29.99.

I came back to F1 2017 after three weeks of using my wheel on GTS, Dirt Rally and PCars and the difference was like night and day: - I know how to drive using the wheel now! - Man, the driving is hella weird compared to everything else! It's nice to know that you can actually feel the difference. Also, I installed Assetto Corsa but it seems to hate Big Picture mode like the plague and trying to get through the tiny menus on a 4K resolution using a controller or a wheel is terrible, and I couldn't get it to actually play on my G29. I thought I'd done the settings but when I went to drive it didn't respond to my wheel at all and was getting the command to accelerate out of nowhere. I can probably get it to work together but it'll take a while. Just a warning that if you like using Big Picture and don't have a KBM in or next to your setup you might have trouble getting everything to work satisfactorily.

SulphagneSocialist posted:and was getting the command to accelerate out of nowhere I've had something like this with my G27 when I also had my flight stick connected. Do you have a joystick or 360 controller also set up, and the game is getting confused?

# ? Nov 10, 2017 13:29 |

I had a 360 controller to control Big Picture with, so that's a suspect, yeah. The car did respond to some commands from the gamepad. I also have a joystick but I had to disconnect it since I didn't have available ports.

Yeah I remember specifically having to unplug my 360 controller to get AC to work with my wheel when I had one. I think it just latches on to whatever is 'controller 1' in windows and refuses to see anything else.

Not a sim exactly but... does F1 race stars by codemasters have wheel support?

GOOD TIMES ON METH posted:Yeah I remember specifically having to unplug my 360 controller to get AC to work with my wheel when I had one. I think it just latches on to whatever is 'controller 1' in windows and refuses to see anything else. Logitech profiler I believe has a flag in global options to specifically force the wheel to take over "controller 1" no matter what you have plugged in. But even with that, I've had issues with having a Xbone controller plugged in at the same time. I've resorted to having one of these right on my desk within reach to prevent all of this nonsense: Hub with Power Switches (unfortunately they are out of stock, but I'm guessing you can find something similar). This has the added benefit of not having your G27 waking you up at night after Windows does an automatic restart of your computer and the wheel does a loud little dance as a power on self test. Just turn off controllers you don't use, and don't worry about messing up USB ports or connectors!

# ? Nov 10, 2017 18:01 |

I sold my wheel because I really didn't have space for it, but that hub seems like a good solution. I might get one just so that I can keep joysticks and poo poo on my PC plugged in and not have issues with my Steam Link in the other room.

Never stop driving. Problem solved. Really though it is weird. I would up mounting a power stop to my cockpit and switching everything on and off with that

I managed to get AC working satisfactorily (it involved figuring out a way to get a second set of KBM next to my setup, helpful for ETS2 too!) and I can't even imagine what the sound will be like in Automobilista if this from the OP doesn't have AC in green there: I gave the Ferrari 458 and the Audi Quattro a go and they sound like they're running on the souls of the damned. So much better than the clinical whine of the cars in GTS. Just for that I was grinning ear to ear while driving even if I'm absolutely poo poo.

# ? Nov 13, 2017 20:29 |

The AMS sound was done mostly by SandroX, who also works with URD (one of the big paid mod makers) and it's only going to get better once they have turbos fully implemented judging from Niels' video of the Formula Trucks with the turbos enabled.

I feel like the straight cut gear noise in GTS overpowers everything else. You can hear distinct motor noises under the gear whine but it’s tough.

To be fair Assetto Corsa's sound got better since I made that chart, there was this one bigger fmod update that improved things quite a bit. R3E is still king. Edit: Updating the OP is going to be my New Year's resolution

I think it's been mentioned before, but it bears repeating: If you have AC and want some good online racing, get the simracingsystem app post-haste. I just had an amazing, very intense and clean race in the Abarth 500 at the Red Bull Ring. Started on pole, lost a couple of places on the first few laps, and then worked my way up to second and had a great fight with the guy ahead. I'm a bit sweaty now.

A number of the SRS require various DLC, and my hope is that all of it goes on sale tomorrow during the Autumn sale. I took this week off and I think I've been in like 8 races in the last 24 hours. There's still the T1 poo poo show in a lot of the more popular races, but if you can survive that it's pretty great fun. And if you are hip to bumping around in Photoshop making liveries when you aren't grinding hotlaps, SRS has a great skin sharing application that makes getting your lovely looking cars out to the whole world a snap! Here's my ever growing fleet of race cars (fantasy sponsors only):

Steen71 posted:Whoa! I don't think my nerves could take that. I avoid the 1 hour races... these were all 20 minutes only. So that's like 3 minutes practice, 10 qualify, 20 race. I DID try the US GT3 race last night which is a 1 hour race and got about 8 minutes into before I got really bored. I hadn't done any setup research or anything, so I was woefully out paced by even bad drivers. But other than that, doing sprint races is super fun for me... even though at least half end in me getting knocked from ~7-9th in qualifying all the way down to 15+ in the first 2 minutes because of T1 shenanigans. But it's getting better! Also, just finished another skin after picking up the Ready to Race DLC. Here's the Audi TT Cup: If this poo poo goes on sale in the next 12 hours I'm going to be somewhat annoyed... but at this point I'm happy to throw Kunos a few more bucks. I'm approaching 300 hours played.
