Generally people consider posting someone's home address or workplace online doxxing even if that person's name was already public knowledge.

I’m really bothered by Jordan Peterson’s suggestion that the decline in traditional marriage is responsible for a rise in sexual assault.

Besides being completely pulled out of thin air, what is he suggesting the link here is?

If women were more clearly marked as property of other men, there would be fewer assaults?

Pretty sure that the issue is that the old Ala law started counting from the date of the crime, not from the date of her majority.

This is super weird to me, who the hell are the 16% of respondents that want a republican, but feel Jones is more representative of their beliefs than Strange?

This is a foreign concept in today's political environment but historically political coalitions were a lot looser ideologically and it wasn't unusual to occasionally find yourself preferring the other party's guy. A lot of voters are still stuck in that mindset, particularly older voters, meaning generally Republicans. A portion of that 16% is probably also Republican voters who are so embarrassed by their local party they don't want anything to do with it, or at least are willing to pretend they don't for the sake of a survey.

Probably the ones who know that Strange won't win a write-in campaign and already hated Moore.

Or they hate the GOP for trying to get rid of Obamacare.

I dunno, they don't explain it any deeper than that.

I don't know the intricacies of the Alabama legal system at all, I'm just saying all the press reporting is saying the statute of limitations has expired. I'm assuming someone called an Alabama criminal attorney and asked.

its just that tribal party overrides how much they care about woman. which mostly only extends to family females

he allegedly diddled kids. you and i and millions of other americans accept these allegations at face value because we have no reason to disbelieve his accusers and because his behavior seems plausible. but there's enough space there for people to dismiss these allegations, because he hasn't been (and won't be) convicted before the election

just remember that if he gets elected, the people of alabama didn't elect a child predator, they elected an alleged child predator, which is still bad enough while being accurate

Yeah my brother's a turbonerd. Not him, his friends.

I've gotten the numbers from different people over multiple conversations over different years, in contexts where they'd have no incentive to lie or exaggerate. Basically they got that estimate by doing the math of

"Well, I went out the bars almost every night for three to five years in the seventies, every night I hooked up with a different random person, 360 x 5 == lots".

Yeah, like - most porn stars don't hit that kinda numbers.

I mean the men do because it's like 6 guys, but 1000 different sexual partners is legitimately difficult to pull off.

I'd say it's more like there's a middle group of non-fanatics that will change their opinions.

A friend of mine's college roommate that I used to play D&D with long ago is one of those nutball "I vote republican!" types. He's pro choice, pro gun control, pro immigration, pretty much across the board about as not republican as it gets, but "His dad voted republican, and he will too!"

Something like this might convince him to not vote, but it'd be a cold day in hell before he voted for the D.
