Generally people consider posting someone's home address or workplace online doxxing even if that person's name was already public knowledge.

I'd have thought the Democrats would go balls to the wall on this one; it's like a 1-in-a-century opportunity. If they lose, they lose but may as well go whole hog.

I’m really bothered by Jordan Peterson’s suggestion that the decline in traditional marriage is responsible for a rise in sexual assault. Besides being completely pulled out of thin air, what is he suggesting the link here is? If women were more clearly marked as property of other men, there would be fewer assaults?

Thaddius the Large posted:This is super weird to me, who the hell are the 16% of respondents that want a republican, but feel Jones is more representative of their beliefs than Strange? This is a foreign concept in today's political environment but historically political coalitions were a lot looser ideologically and it wasn't unusual to occasionally find yourself preferring the other party's guy. A lot of voters are still stuck in that mindset, particularly older voters, meaning generally Republicans. A portion of that 16% is probably also Republican voters who are so embarrassed by their local party they don't want anything to do with it, or at least are willing to pretend they don't for the sake of a survey.

Probably the ones who know that Strange won't win a write-in campaign and already hated Moore. Or they hate the GOP for trying to get rid of Obamacare. I dunno, they don't explain it any deeper than that.

I've gotten the numbers from different people over multiple conversations over different years, in contexts where they'd have no incentive to lie or exaggerate. Basically they got that estimate by doing the math of "Well, I went out the bars almost every night for three to five years in the seventies, every night I hooked up with a different random person, 360 x 5 == lots".
