https://mobilesyrup.com/2017/11/09/canadians-1-2gb-data-per-month-wireless-crtc-report/ Thought this was interesting: quote:Canadians are also consuming an average of 1.2GB of mobile data every month, which is a 25 percent increase from 2015. Interestingly enough, the report also highlights that more than a quarter of those who subscribed to a monthly data plan had at least 5GB of data, which seems to suggest that more Canadians are able to afford more data every month. Also somehow 72% of households still have a landline

CLAM DOWN posted:Also somehow 72% of households still have a landline They often charge you extra to not take a landline. I just have internet through Shaw and theyve called several times to give me cable, home phone and a $10 discount on my bill for six months. Took it then cancelled at the end of six months. Im guessing that means Id be counted as having a landline even though the box sat in the corner collecting dust with nothing plugged into it.

Are the Pixel prices ever going to drop or is it just pegged at the same price as the Pixel 2 until inventory runs out? Both are listed at "from $899" on the Google Store, loving hell.

I got a 5$ discount on my bill for having a landline with BellMTS as opposed to having no landline, I don't even have any working phone jacks in my house so I can't use it even if I wanted to for some reason.

I was gonna get just Internet with Eastlink but they had a data cap if you didn't get the bundle. Then after I actually ordered it a few days later I found they've removed the cap on internet only packages -_-

Anyone order a Google Pixel 2 XL and know when they're getting it? My wife's current phone is a safety issue with its terrible battery and Rogers says November 15, but they also originally said October 19.

Facebook Aunt posted:Any opinions about Chatr? It never seems to be mentioned. I've had the $25 province wide calling + 100 texts plan for a year now and I'm pretty happy with it, it's actually cheaper than a landline phone and I'm old so I don't text anyway. (I didn't bother with a data plan because there seems to be plenty of free wifi all over town if I need it.). Chatr is fine? I'm on the same plan as you. The signal is great speaking as a former Wind and Mobilicity user. The best part about Chatr used to be that Rogers employees could not help you in rogers stores, like Rogers HQ refused to stock Chatr sim cards for fear of their employees letting customers walk out the door with anything less than $120/month plan. But they now have a tiny purple "Chatr!" sign in their window that is probably there only because someone new in the legal department did due diligence around deceptive business practices. I'm right now in the middle of and entire three free months of service thanks to the accrued $80 worth auto pay credits I got just for being the rare sort of Chatr customer that has a functioning credit cart. But, I'm off to whatever is Public Mobile's best offer as soon as those credits run out because living life without any data is sort of undignified.

Picked up my 2XL today, it's great Somehow the Rogers store at Richmond Centre had stock of 2XL 128GB and literally nothing else. I remember for the first Pixel, Rogers didn't have stock of the 128GB version for like 3 months post-release.

I like to buy off Google directly for Nexus/Pixel phones, but I also get a mad discount through work for Rogers so I also have no issues getting a phone on contract from them (since I'm not switching carriers due to said discount).
