I picked this up recently with my switch and I'm surprised at how much fun this is despite playing like garbage. The only weapon I can't really figure out how to use is the brush. I'm okay with the roller but the brush seems to escape me. Favourite weapon so far is the akimbo pistols. Just wish the bombs didn't hit like a wet paper bag.

They might not be too powerful but they are the most likely sub to hit your target. They are quick and they make killing someone a lot easier in exchange for some ink. You don't need to land nearly as many shots on someone if you also land one on them, and it's easy to do just that. They can make it easy to finish off someone who's getting away, and they're good for making an ambush way quicker and more likely to succeed. You can also cut off someone's escape route by inking your target's trail behind him if he got too bold into your territory, but internalizing that takes a little while. They aren't instant kill like many of the other subs but they are so cheap and they make killing a lot easier with the right timing.

ive been using the gootuber a lot to give it a fair shake (76000+ ink turfed) and you know what, i dont think its very good its kinda fun tho zipping around with a full charge all the time and it has its moments https://twitter.com/SmilesHimself/status/926783318690897921 but then i tried the bamboozler next and its soooo much better a gun  hit superfresh in no time

Still trying to get a handle on the Brushes, is it best to just stay moving and look for ambushes? I think trying to learn them in Turf War is setting me back because I always break down and try and paint stuff and then am out of ink when I need to actually fight.

The Octobrush is more about lying in small areas or going around a flank near the frontlines / coming from a weird angle, while the Inkbrush is more about going a longer way around / through heavy enemy ink, to come from an unexpected direction. The octobrush is a bit more deadly, but is slower, so it makes more sense to use it from a bit of a defensive position, whereas the inkbrush you can just plow through enemy ink like it’s nothing, and swerve around to splat fools from a direction that they’re 100% sure is safe.

Guess I'll wait for Splash-o-matic neo. Every other special forces players to at least run away, this piece of poo poo of a liability most of the time, even if you don't instantly die from using it, good luck actually hitting someone with it. Even in this clip you can see me clearly missing someone but getting a kill anyway meaning actually hitting someone when you mean to is a crapshoot. Meanwhile splat rollers get to enjoy curling bomb into enemy group > Splashdown with invincibility frames for no reason > if enemy stays flail your weapon vaugely in their direction to kill them > if enemy runs - still good; they HAVE to give you a wide berth.

Nah, Splashdown isn't that great either. Anyone remotely decent knows how long they have while you are rising up to kill you, and has no qualms about doing it, so I get splatted just before the invincibility frames kick in far more than I actually get Splahdown's off. The visual boundary of effect on it is wonky as all hell though. I get splatted while being clearly outside an opposing danger zone all the time.

I use short to medium range weapons. No matter how far I back up it, if I dont give them a huge berth I just get insta killed with a flick if I try to punish, even if Im at max range. Splattershot pro's and long range weapons probably have an easier time. Incidentally, Splashdown is considered one of the best specials right now alongside Stingray. Can't kill you if you're at full health, but if you took some damage, it's capable of finishing you off.

Also try to use Splashdown via super jumping to your fellow squids. If you're lucky, the bad guys would be standing near the beacon for you in the hopes for an easy splat.

We really need to have a conversation about the fantastic aesthetic of the salmonids. If you've ever taken a moment to look at the background of the Salmon Run stages, you'll noticed they're littered with weird items like flaming tables and giant fake corn on the cob, sausages, and forks. It's pretty clear that the salmonids have looted Earth's ancient tacky seafood restaurants for their decor. Also, it makes me wonder if the world outside of Inkopolis is mostly a polluted wasteland.

I'm not sure if this is common knowledge but, if you want to avoid 1 man SR games in the future you can put the console to sleep while the timer in the lobby is running and suffer no penalty. Not sure if DC-ing another way works.
