If it helps those bastions of quality decisions Fifa have listened to your concerns that a big team might get knocked out in favour of some poo poo who the gently caress are they nation and decided to have 30 groups of 2 with the top 2 going through so that's sorted.

Wales had great results over a 3-4 year stretch and played the system well ahead of two qualifying draws. We beat Belgium like 12 times and got to the Euro semis. Now that we're poo poo again and can't win games we've dropped back down and will get lower seeding. The system works.

And the only reason they failed to qualify is that they got put in a qualifier group with Spain, and have a garbage manager. Not as good as usual doesn’t mean they’re not top 10, but they’ve clearly underperformed in the last two world cups. Holland for sure are going through a bad patch, but have nevertheless done rather well in the last two world cups (semi final and final), and will be back again in the Euros no doubt.
