Oh man I'll have to take a look at that. Also, the Creventic 24h (14h sat + 9hr break + 10hn sun) of COTA is this weekend, with John Hindhaugh at the wheel of an Aston Martin GT8 GT4 with the CEO of Aston Martin, and Paul Hollywood. I watched Quali and Night Practice tonight and it should be a good show. The Mercedes-AMG GT4 is there, in not-yet-homologated trim, pulling laps about 4 seconds faster than homologated GT4 cars. Should be interesting how they peg them back in the homologation process.

Hot take: I liked PC! The cars were pretty and sounded fantastic, and they kept a lot of teams and crews employed on rich-guy money and boosted the grid for a lot of years, which was the point after all. Although it probably was a bad idea making cars that fast as easy to drive as they did, cuz it attracted some absolutely terrible rich-guy drivers.

Anybody following the last WEC race of the season? I don't care about the P1 stuff but its pretty much winner takes all between the #31 and #38 cars in LMP2. Also because Prost and Senna are in the #31 and those names together give me feelings.

The Dallara/BR Engineering BR1 has been revealed: https://twitter.com/SMP_Racing/status/931567156193583105 SMP Racing are entring 2 of them into the WEC with the AER V6 twin turbo that was in the Rebellions and the ByKolles. DragonSpeed also announced that they'll be running a 3rd with a bigger version of the Gibson V8 LMP2 engine (up to 4.5 from 4.2) for their WEC entry that they announced a while back.

In news that should surprise absolutely no one, Formula V8 3.5 (formerly World Series by Renault 3.5) is closing down after this weekend's season finale. The series never recovered from the loss of Renault's backing at the end of 2015, with grids regularly consisting of ten or so cars these past couple of years. It's a shame. 3.5 used to be a pretty solid feeder series with some serious talent, but these last couple of years were just sad to watch and frankly I'm surprised they lasted this long.

It doesn't surprise me, a measure of how bad it was is the guy who just won on his debut out of nowhere has a CV consisting of "Karting" and "12th in Formula Renault Eurocup".
