I’d be more embarrassed by Chun Li than by Bayonetta, she went from Kick-Waifu to “please schedule an intervention for steroids” but bad UVGO: “I feel embarrassed playing X” is the surest indicator you would be jacking off to something. Bayonetta is all about fighting and if you skip cutscenes (which you probably should if you’ve beaten the game ever, it’s a 10 year old game) then her sexuality and skimpy costume aren’t an issue since she’s just killing poo poo. LoL at sanctimonious pearl clutching at the idea someone might catch you playing a video game with a sexy charicature in it, as though literally all of Television isn’t just as embarrassing. How people form these opinions about video games but aren’t equally embarrassed by Game of Thrones of True Blood is totally beyond me.

Look dude you are talking to someone whose beaten that game probably 20 or 30 times on 3 platforms, and outside of her fetish-themed execution moves and boss fight finishers she is literally just a woman in a black body suit punching and kicking things in the center of your screen. There huge chunks of the game you could watch and probably only barely be able to tell Bayonetta is a woman and not some black demon thing. Her sexuality is expressed almost exclusively through cutscenes and Game of Thrones has actual titties and boners instead of cheesecake. If you were walking in on someone and they had a woman in a bikini on screen vs a naked woman getting hosed while crying on screen (Game of Thrones is a bad show) would you be more suspect of A) or B)? The answer is C) being embarrassed by the media you consume is dumb and you shouldn’t let the threat of idol shame prevent you from enjoying things. I’d rather play a game where the women is allowed to have agency and be in control than watch any show where they are just hot and waiting around to gently caress the real main characters.

There's definitely provocative stuff ingame. the pulls levers like she's mounting a pole, there's at least one attack that has a crotch shot (with camera effects) and her clothes literally disintegrate as combos go on. if you're blind to this stuff I suggest detoxing from anime for a bit
