RE: .ini file edit for holding RMB for ADS -- I changed mine when the option first came out. But, I found that there was a bit of delay on me pressing RMB and when I actually aimed down the sight. So, I changed it back to click/toggle. Not saying you shouldn't do it, but just be prepared for it.

That’s some good new engine sound, all they need to add is the occasional part falling off and bouncing down the road. And re: PUBG and performance, I’ve got a brand new i7 with 16 gigs of RAM and a 1070 and no matter what my settings are I can’t get a stable 60 FPS. Performance still is extremely not this game’s strong suit.

It would, the problem is he's trying to play at a resolution his card can't quite handle. Most of the newer AAA games wouldn't have a fully stay above 60FPS on Ultra at that resoluation. You kind of have to treat PUBG like you're playing a real game on Ultra because its unoptimized. He also doesn't have g-sync and is running v-sync which would guarantee a lovely experience.

Yeah I deal with drops to 50 fps because I play at 4k. Quick alt tabbing is worth more to me than that last 10 fps in the worst case.

Turns out my issue was running it borderless windowed instead of standard fullscreen. Once I went fullscreen it smoothed completely out and I can run it on high at 1440p just fine. It's a shame though because now none of my overlays work.

I use an autohotkey script that I wrote to get around this. I press a key to toggle between which aim mode will be used, and then regardless of whether I hold right mouse or tap it, it does goes into the appropriate aim mode until I press right mouse again. Yeah I think the current default setup is just fine. The only disadvantage is that coming from certain other FPSs, you need to re-train to right-click instead of holding. It didn't take me long to get into. Crouching and holding right to pseudy-ADS is really useful when sneaking up on someone, in 3pp. I think it lets you creep marginally faster than using straight-up ADS?

Played my first ever foggy map and got my first chicken dinner since my son was born.  Every single kill was me on my stomach in the flowers picking people off. I've noticed more and more people are running barefoot. Is this really the new ~pro strat~? I was using it, and just now I killed two guys barefoot and was killed by another unshoed battle royalant. Eventually, running barefoot will be normal and people will begin wearing boots again to differentiate the footsteps.
