Well now that we're further off topic - apparently the Incels subreddit got shut down? I found out from a local area TCG/RPG facebook group I'm part of. Helped me very quickly figure out who I don't want to socialize with in the future. Seems to be quite a bit of FYGM overlap, too.

suicidesteve posted:My point is that this I know two guys in the local scene who are constantly crowing about their cardboard portfolios, and how they have decks worth so much money. They always give me this weird side eye when I tell them that I would be stoked if the reserve list got abolished. Sure, I would be out a few hundred bucks on decks, but then I could play legacy against more than the same eight people every month. So while I agree that most legacy players would not care if their cards lost value, cardboard barons do exist.

Most of my "investments" would survive reprints and abolishing the reserve list, especially if they keep reprinting everything with awful CGI "art". I'd take a hit to value if it meant I got to play this format at more than just GPs.

I'd get into Vintage, but I think I'm just going to buy a convertible Corvette instead. Not enough Vintage tournaments to make it worthwhile. Maybe I'll pick it up online.

So I ended up with ~75 tix after innistrad drafting off play points a week or so ago. Is there a reasonable legacy list you can get into for that cheap? Or should I just stick with pauper forever on mtgo.

Played legacy for the first time in like 5 months. Red and Taxes. Went 3/0, split round 4 and 2/0d it for the extra pack. Stay tuned for next June when I play again.

2-2 with RG Breach for like the third Modern FNM in a row. Beat the real decks (Merfolk, Elves) and lost to the weird stuff (Cheerios and BUG Panharmonicon with Trespasser's Curse and the Hunted creatures ). I keep having these middling finishes and games where I'm one turn away and I think it might be time to bench the deck for a little while. I have GW Value Company sleeved up and am one fetch away from Mardu Control.

uPen posted:I'm not sure I'd recommend having any money whatsoever invested in a system that wizards seems to be actively trying to kill. I wouldn't encourage it either, but I will say that the ~$700 balance of digital cards I have provides me more entertainment than most other small chunks of money I have in things. That's way down from where I used to be; I pulled twice that out of it a few months ago and am now just keeping 1-2 decks together and trading them when I get bored. MTGO has a lot of problems, but both in terms of UX and quality of opponents, it's the best way to play magic online (barring using XMage/trice to play with people you know from the real world who therefore will suck less)

Outside of those two cards, red is kind of a wash, honestly. So, I want to try an Esper version that gives me access to hand disruption while also maintaining white's ridiculous sideboard options. The Gargadon stand-in is Tomb of Urami which will still give me the combo exchanging a 5-land threshold for freeing up a couple slots in the deck.

I was under the impression that its curve was a little too high for Bob to be worthwhile.

Hello I play Norin Sisters and have a crippling addiction to fun-ofs. I enjoy adding some unpredictability to my deck at the expense of consistency and I am perfectly aware and fine with that. The following cards have rotated in and/or out of my deck and/or sideboard at some point in the past two months: Legions Landing, Spirit Link, Shrine of Loyal Legions, Fling, Path of Bravery, Chalice of Life//Death, Oblivion Ring, Collective Effort, Rune-Tail, Dusk//Dawn Things that are in my deck already: suture priest, westvale, Kher keep, dismember, aetherflux reservoir Things I'm waiting for the price to go down on a little more: Serra Ascendant, Archangel of Thune. Not running because of WW and Suture Priest being in that slot: Auriok Champion. No: Burn at the Stake Please give me more ideas for goofy bullshit to try out on my deck Archenteron fucked around with this message at 16:43 on Nov 22, 2017 |

More pridemate triggers on command, turns on faster and provides a nice incremental clock compared to Aetherflux, and loss of life means funny interactions with worship, Angels Grace, etc Rally seems spicy, I didn't think Mesa was in Modern and is worth considering. Rally wouldn't be bad but I'm leery about fivedrops, and Genesis Chamber makes Confusion a godawful clusterfuck. So all in all, some good ideas already, thanks!
