For a second I forgot what thread we were in and thought you meant Jack Kirby, and now I have a mighty need to see Kirby as drawn by Kirby. Like, with the Krackle, and one of those craggy Darkseid faces where he's revelling in how evil everything is

I'm surprised no one ever drew Kirby as Kirby or Kirby in Kirby's style, or at least that it doesn't instantly pop up in a Google search.

Maybe the soft, round shapes of Kirby's universe are simply too antithetical to the King's harsh angularity?

I think I've seen a Jack Kirby/Kirby crossover elsewhere (though maybe in the context of Super Smash Bros.?), but I can't for the life of me recall where I saw that.

The thing is, Something Awful has certain traits, as follows:

1) "Shitposting" is encouraged, so that it's very unlikely that you'll be moderated for dominating any given thread with unpopular, stupid, or questionably relevant opinions for several dozen pages at a time. That's just not how the mods here work.
2) There's generally only one megathread for any given topic, so side conversations don't break off into separate threads.

As a result:

1) Settling on a general trolling schtick, and repeating it endlessly in a large number of threads in different subforums, is a low-effort strategy that sees a high reward in terms of getting people's attention if that's what you're hungry for.
2) Even if most people ignore you, it really only needs a couple of people to bite for your to dominate several pages of people explaining why you should be ignored every time you cast your net.
3) And this explaining is visible even to the people who did ignore you.

So:

1) This keeps happening.

And it will pretty much continue to happen indefinitely, unless SA decides it cares enough to change moderation policies to make it happen less, because it's what the setup encourages. You pretty much just have to put up with it, and maybe specifically label your webcomics thread as a hopefully clevinless zone.

The anger is automatic and involuntary at this point. They all know that they're simply repeating the same pattern, but can't help themselves.

e: In fact, I think there's a webcomic called Cucumber Quest that's about people who are stuck repeating their failure ad infinitum, and remain in the same unsolvable antagonism.

General trolling of this type is against the forum rules. If they are doing it across multiple threads, report it in every thread where it's applicable.

The manner in which they unwrap this fact IS compelling, for the protagonists and antagonists alike.

In another year or so, you can toss me an "I told you so" but in terms of breaking a chain of failure I feel this will be more satisfying than others of its kind have been.
