Is there any science behind when you should really stop breastfeeding? Obviously it's best for the first year or so, but at what point are you going to start loving up your child mentally if they keep breastfeeding.

The guidelines are you just do it until either you or the toddler/baby get tired of it, it's mostly beneficial, but I'm pretty sure that there's an implicit assumption you're not supposed to be a pedo about it.

I looked at her book blog because there's absolutely fuckall about the book on the book's preorder site except for that same picture of her blown up really big. She apparently moved from Shopify because they "support hate sites". I wonder if the Shopify page had... any information... There are exactly two entries. Zero are informative. There was a long, drawn out slap fight on a thread I was watching the other night. Most people involved are idiots in some way, but some are extremely racist idiots. The actual thread was about 300 comments long (so I've just given some of the dumber parts, since nobody really wants to read the whole thing), and it was triggered by someone making a post saying that they were happy to call out bigotry, even if it made others call them an rear end in a top hat. Black took exception to this, and started talking about how people are being elitist if they drop words from one of our country's official languages into sentences predominantly in another (using Te Reo Maori words in otherwise English conversation). And it all kinda went downhill from there. Clumsily edited in paint, since it's not a public thread and I don't have social media fixer at work. Black and yellow are very, very white, red is Maori. Remember that, because it's important. Black takes exception to Red's use of Maori in a comment.  The argument continued for a while, until yellow came in to explain how Maori should act if they want people to take them seriously.  People called him out for this, so he doubled down.  Red was unhappy with a white dude trying to tell him how his culture should work (with bonus shittiness from black)  More people call out yellow for being a racist poo poo.  More racism.  "Actually, you're the real racists"  (I don't think he ever actually explained what he meant by 'actually I'm not white') "You just refuse to listen to my arguments, which makes you the intolerant one"  Here's where it really goes off the rails. "You don't actually understand your own culture. Let me, a white man, explain it for you."  "Actually, I consider myself Maori, and you don't live up to my standards"  (And that was his last post in the thread. Just for closure, here's Red's response)

That certainly was quite a phrase. Red certainly has a... command of both languages. A certain Je ne sais quois, I certainly wouldn't have come up with that sentence. I'll clarify because I know in hindsight how that seemed - I'm not trying to say "He's good at english for a Maori" because I know that's how that sounded. Hell, the only english words actually from England anymore (IE the pre-AngloSaxon Celtic language) are place names, IIRC. It would be great to see one of these idiots go back in time to see "pure" pre-invasion english, AKA the language of the Britons before the many invasions, and have it be a completely alien language to them, Anglo-Saxon basically replaced it. Welsh is old British, English is corrupted German, the Britons that didn't flee to france to escape the the Angles, Saxons, Jutes and Romans went north and west and became the Welsh and the Scots, wiping out the Picts at the time. It was a massive global game of Musical Chairs.
