YouTube stuff doers need to stop being so sorry for everything period. I just roll eyes when they try to presage everything with pre-emptive excuses. What shits fans must be!

People tried to give FLG poo poo about some of their stuff being unpainted on their most recent batrep and they replied saying 'we work 80 hours a week including filming this, and GW have released 8 books in 5 months and we're trying to show them all off for your benefit, what is your problem?'

It was refreshing.

I liked the apology, it was unnecessary but refreshing and the comments he posted on the video were heartfelt. Made me change my opinion on his work and the channel which I guess is why he made the apology, so people like myself don't think bad of it all for a single tube.

His comment in Yakromunda was also professional and humble. Much respect.

I had a short wargame burnout after finishing this years local Blood Bowl league, but today's black friday sales got me to buy some stuff from my local store.
First of all Shadespire seems to be the new shite around me and I have friends grabbing copies who didn't touch any figures for 10 years. So went for an undead box for something like $17, even if we play the thing twice, thats basically 2 movie tickets here without popcorn and coke. Sculpts are great, and mechanics sound simple like a wooden wedge, and game length also said to be under 30 mins, first game expected tomorrow.

I also bought Necromunda, mainly because I possess 3 original gangs and got hit by an awful sense of nostalgia, secondly I'm hoping the "2D" version can be quicker and simpler to get some games done with friends.

If nothing else I got new stuff to paint which is always great (or more reason to paint my old gangs, you know how it is...)

Oh that's cool, I wanted to try creating a scenario featuring a plague zombie infested map using some cribbed rules from Mantic's The Walking Dead game but was worried that noice rules would penalize Cawdor too much since they typically got a lot of chain swords.

The idea is that most guns create noise, while heavy weapons and chain swords create mayhem. At the end of every turn you check each zombie against an AI priority;

Move 6" towards the nearest hanger in LoS resolve a melee combat if that puts it in range
No LoS? Move 6" to closest noice marker
Each player rolls a d6 and if the combined result is lower than the number of mayhem actions made in the game so far add the difference in plague zombies to one of the nine starting zone gaming edges.

Thought it might be a fun use of the plague zombies everyone has lying around from the Dark Imperium box. Though I do worry that putting a penalty on shooting might infairly disadvantage Escher gangs.

Most models should be on 25mm bases. The Goliaths are the exception. They're on 32mm bases because they're big lunks. The beastman bounty hunter is also on a 32mm.

So now that specialist games are making their return, how long till we see a new version of BFG?

Because man, I'd kill for a bunch of sweet gothic as gently caress spaceship models.
Especially if the were to be a bit bigger than the old models, like somewhere along the lines of the smaller half of Star Wars Armada ships.

Somewhere down the line, it keeps getting brought up by name by devs when they say they've got future plans but there's nothing concrete, could see it after Titanicus.

They need to make it smoother/more clearly balanced/less-swingy, but not over simplify or complicate it, and they can't crib so much from the flight path system that they end up with legal implications or bad press.

It's a non-trivial piece of game design.

And they probably also don't want people saying, "They stole that from Dropfleet."

For transparency, they might consider giving Mr. Chambers a call and inviting him to do the revamp he always wanted.

I'm paraphrasing, but my favorite take-aways were:
"Loving Gorkamorka doesn't change the fact that I wrote it in 8 weeks, largely just stealing entire sections from Necromunda, and its rushed design suffered for it."

"I have very reasonable rates and Games Workshop has my phone number."

"I didn't have anything to do with it, so I am free to say exactly what I think about it."

His open contempt for GW is pretty amusing.

Well, all Escher player is gonna have one, since bolter and whip are cast with bits that go with the coat... and the coat doesn't appreciate you trying to put other arms instead of bolter, either.

Let's do the space-time warp again!

Orlocks look rad, I didn't know that I wanted them to be Mustache Gang until I saw it. It would take me a while to talk myself into them though, as I already have a full game from the old version (same with Escher)

It seems like their rules are going to be in Gang War II? I really hope that GW isn't doing one gang per supplement, that is going to be pretty exhausting unless they are $5 or something.

OK, is it just me? Am I the only one that sees all of the new Necromunda minis and thinks they don't look entirely...human? Like, there's a weird, blocky/chunky, disproportionality to them that I just find really off-putting. Most of the AoS stuff is the same way. I think they have given the ol heroic scale treatment to all of the major features barring the head so it looks a little odd.
