Remember Bernie literally had no marketing department for a multi billion dollar business. Counterpoint: It's a poo poo logo. Just go to Twitter or Facebook and check out how it looks like a blurry red blotch at the small size next to their posts. The number 1 rule of logo design is make it distinct at any size. Also maybe F1 under Bernie could have used extra salespeople but don't get silly, F1's branding was fine. He clearly employed designers, F1 has a pretty good website, it's not like Bernie was uploading updates with Dreamweaver. The TV graphics are also among the best in sports broadcasting.

Crazy, wonder what he could've done with a marketing department. At the end of the day, though, the problem y'all are going to have is that you've so childishly whined about every sensible change that Liberty has made that it's impossible to take you seriously ever again.

The logo was rear end and designed by some Portland hipster who has never seen any sort of race ever who admitted the previous one was timeless and this one will look dated two years from now. Lol if you think the new logo is good.

Sean Bratches, F1’s commercial chief and a former ESPN executive, was defensive about the revamp, which disposes of a globally-recognised logo in use since 1993. “We are trying to reposition F1 from a purely motorsport company to a media and entertainment brand with the heart and soul of a race car driver in the middle of it,” he said.

I actually like F1's foray into the retro 80s craze, though it does mean the retro 80s craze is probably on its last legs, which is sad but inevitable. Retro 90s craze will be terrible.

New logo is fine, new main typeface is good but the really bold one (turbo?) already looks dated. The other is fine. What’s more interesting from that article is what it looks like they want to do with event branding and bringing the “Formula 1” name and image a bit more to the forefront.

The logo is fine. It looks like “F1” to me and is pretty straightforward. F1s logos have always been mediocre at best - perhaps they should have emulated the Americans sooner because the NASCAR logo (to use an example) kicks rear end.
