Why do some people seem to hate Dustin so much? Granted, I’ve only read a few so far but it seems pretty harmless to me.

The jokes are hacky "what's the deal with airplane food" crap with repetitive nonsense like everybody and anybody asking "seriously" in every punchline set-up.

When it isn't a mouthpiece for a real shitheel Republican boomer to poo poo on his strawman image of the new generation by having everyone in the comic be mercilessly cruel to the young man whose college degree isn't earning him the instant respect and comfortable salary he'd surely get if he ~*applied himself*~ in today's economy. This young man spends most of his time fighting for steady employment through dozens of jobs.

And it's like that most of the time.

Don't even read it. I try not to but our scroll wheels all stop somewhere, at times.

Oh boy, are we in for an entire week of Kelley misunderstanding what a bouncer actually does while people constantly poo poo on Dustin for not matching that idea???

Add "has no idea what some lines of work actually entail" to the reasons people hate it.

You also haven't been around for the strips where Dustin's dad shits on retail/service workers for no apparent reason. The strip's writer is Lazy Millennials Just Need To Work Harder(but menial work means you're worthless scum) incarnate, which is the core of why people hate it so much. Its only redeeming feature is the artist, who's way too good to be stuck drawing this poo poo.

See, now you’ve actually piqued my interest because that’s actually a pretty accurate description of what it’s like being a millennial in America these days. It sounds like one of those Republican political cartoons that are actually really good if you just invert message that the writer is going for.

This is exactly the case with Dustin. You're supposed to agree with the dad that Dustin is some money-grubbing laze-about, but almost every comic is him trying to either find or hold a job while literally nobody else supports or believes in him.

Not only that, but as adults they're 40 feet LONG. Even back in the day when everyone thought they had bolt-upright posture as Ripley's has illustrated here, they still only thought T. rex stood about 20 feet tall. Damnit Ripley's, go read some Mark Witton or something and learn to paleoart.

There was an entire storyline where some rabbits decided "gently caress this" and actually fought back.

They were portrayed as the villains.
