Aside from the massive negative reception, theaters have also been posting signs mentioning this because people have been walking out of galleries confused and thinking they were seeing the wrong movie. That said, Coco's probably one of the better movies by Pixar recently but its biggest flaw is that it's just reminding me how much more I enjoyed Book of Life.

I have a feeling I'm gonna have the exact opposite reaction here. Book of Life was visually fantastic, but I like instantly dropped about 3 interest levels the second somebody started singing an anachronistic existing pop song. Like, I get it, it's cheaper to do some Moulin Rouge bullshit than it is to write original music. But would it have killed them to use something from Mexico to tell their extremely Mexican story?
