I am a little bummed that Delaque are coming out last, but on the other hand I have really liked all the models they have shown so far. Hopefully I can get the box set for Christmas or something but I am really tempted to grab the Escher just to work on in the meantime

Probably not for a year. They're getting the house gangs out approx once a quarter first, but they've stated they want to do everything eventually. Ratskin scouts as hired guns are likely soon at least, since we've already seen a bounty hunter and some Scum.

I mean, it's a consistent aesthetic, so maybe it's just their new art director/art staff. But I've gotta say, I'm not a fan.
Nah. Everything from the End Times onwards has a particular style of shading, especially visible in smooth/flowing stuff like smoke, magical energy, cloth, muscles. A bit like it was carved out with a knife.

And as much as I don't like that they have done with the Nucromunda release w/r/t terrain/campaign rules in separate box etc., I have to admit the new minis look indeed very good. I might poke a friend or two into buying some so I can build/paint them without giving money to GW :v:

I really like the new Orlock models - can't say I was a fan of the old look. I'll have to wait until I get a box but they might be my favourite of the three released so far.

If Gang Wars II has all 4 of the other gangs in it then I am tentatively ok with it (in as much as I can be with having another book just to cover the base 6 gangs). If it just has Orlock in then it had better be bloody cheap, and also urghh. Trusting in the battle bunnies on this, they have a good track record with blood bowl news.

More tiles is neat.

I'm digging the new Orlocks. All the gangs so far would look appropriate alongside their older metal counterparts, which might be a good way to designate juves.

My only real concern is that I am pretty sure my legacy gangs are going to look pretty dinky with these new ones. I suppose I could use them as juves but that's odd for the leader/heavy

I picked up my box and book but haven't had a chance to sir down and read the rules. Everything looks pretty familiar from skimming it a bit. I did punch out the tokens and clean up the terrain bits in the box.

I haven't built any gangers yet. It's really been a long time since I've bought a GW kit. They have a ton of parts. I'm going to build them like starter gang load outs. I figure that's my best bet if I want to play it board game style. I've got all the old Escher so I can probably field anything I want if we do a campaign eventually.

Is the 3D terrain box out yet? My lgs didn't have one.

The Shadow War Armageddon terrain is basically purpose-built for Necromunda. It's all available separately, but the bundle is long gone.

Brute Cleaver is -1 AP. Axe is not.

Why can't you give an Escher two autopistols?

I wonder how quickly people will houserule away the rule that says Gangers will never give up their wargear.

I get that, but I'd rather that be someone's personal choice than a mandatory THOU SHALT. Especially since the alternative is that you buy a new model... which is what I guess GW wants anyway.

It basically spells it out in the rules, saying that you should have models to account for wysiwyg loadouts.

Maybe I'll get second sets of gangs when FW cranks out poo poo.

Currently, I have
Goliaths
Combistub/powerhams leader
Renderizer champ
Krumper champ
2 stub/axe juvies
2 Grenade launcher gangers
2 stubgun gangers
1 combat shotgun ganger
With grenades spread out without rhyme or reason

Esher
Powersword (gonna break off)/combineedeler (needle is already trying to break off) leader
Plasma/whip champ
A champ I forget (2 laspistols?)
2 pistol/knife juves
3 lasgun gangers
1 shotgun ganger
1 NOTAFLAMER ganger
With knives and grenades glued in stupid places.

This is my guess as to why the Escher/Goliath gang upgrade pack is not out at the same time as release. Some people who would otherwise not double dip will.

They're releasing a blood bowl almanac this week and if I played the tabletop version more frequently i'd be tempted even though I already own both books.

It’s particularly poo poo as Gangers are the only fighter type who advances randomly. They are the ones who need to be able to switch their equipment based on their abilities.

So the thing is that Gangers are meant to be disposable guys, and while the advancement is somewhat random it's not like a CC guy will randomly get BS bonuses. Gangers pick between options that work for either focus, and once they become a Specialist they advance like Juves, Leaders, and Champions.

The fast learner bonus Juves get is particularly powerful.

Ok I didn’t realise you could choose whichever option fits for Ganger advances. Not so bad.

Spent a while talking to FW at the open day, here's what I remember:

The new titan game had the original box concept cancelled. It wasn't going to be both a satisfying product and priced within reason. So it'll be plastic now.

Necromunda - No Arbites. They don't fit the micro level of society the game is looking at, and they don't want a faction that is only suited to certain GM played scenarios. However, the ruling House does obviously have its own enforcers, who may wear very similar gear (just as the last arbites models were called Enforcers and wore Arbite cosplay) who would have business grabbing gangers.

There will probably be a Bounty Hunter gang.

Genestealer and Chaos cults are something WD are looking at doing.

Ladies in gangs other than Escher are definitely something they have concepts for (no explicit promises though). Juves may be the most likely place for them to appear.

More tiles are coming.

The Orlock models looked absolutely stunning. There's a particularly great one with two pistols, and also a dude with a harpoon gun. "Why does he have it? Because he can."

Resin weapon packs are definitely something they are making. Wouldn't confirm or deny bits to remake the classic Orlock heavy bolter.

Gang medics etc are coming.

I believe they said civilian/non-combat models to add life to the table are a possibility/something they'd like to do but no promises.

Oh, and while they have had successes so far, the division is still small enough that one failed product could sink it entirely. So they're trying to be careful about not loving up. It wasn't mentioned but I would assume that is at least part of the reason for doing things like Gang War separately, as opposed to naked gauging.

I think I have mentioned them before, but I have some terrain from https://promethiumforge.com/, and I am really happy with it. It's inspired by the old Necromunda sets, and made from laser cut MDF. The pieces fit together very nicely without any work, and it's modular so you can assemble it in a bunch of different ways. In addition they also let kits that work around a soda/beer can to make some other terrain. I've been meaning to post some pictures of it but I'm lazy. :effort:

The best terrain for it is the Citadel Sector Mechanicus stuff, because that is the GW product designed with it in mind. If you don't mind the cost it is excellent. I've also heard that there is laser cut MDF stuff designed to match the walls on the tiles that come in the Necromunda box (and consequently look like the Zone Mortalis board the card is based on) but I've not found who makes it yet.

I'm in that middle of assembling one of their beer-can industrial tanks and ordered four more.

Probably the best source for cheap terrain is your recycle bin. Just about any plastic container looks good if you turn it upside down and paint it.

I made these last month from yogurt and cat food containers, and different bottle caps.

Does that include that £18 Gor-bountyhunter? Cuz bugger me sideways, that's a lot of money for a singular dude and I was just thinking of taking a Wargames Foundry metal beastman and kit-bashing some stuff from the bitz-box rather than pony up the money for that.

I'll probably buy multiple of the Orlock box for use in non-GW skirmish games, thinking about it. They look just generic enough to work for the sci-fi games that Osprey have been putting out recently.

That's a Forgeworld model, and priced accordingly. However it sells, it's not going to impact Specialist Games, since it's not a core item.
