No one in the thread has mentioned that like half of the accusers of LDR are like teens/young college and LDR is in their 30s, at least one of the accounts (inviting over to watch tv, not revealing they'd be alone, pushing to watch tv in bed together, pressuring to do sexual acts after their show had ended) was both a: some pretty predatory sounding behavior and b: could only generously be described as flirty.

entryism implies some kind of subterfuge or hidden agenda. yeah refoundation wants to win people over to a more marxist politics but it isnt concealing that or recruiting for / working on behalf of outside organizations

i guess it depends on if they would purge the non marxists out if they gained majority control of the org, which i dont really care but i dont see if happening

Hi friends! Thank you all for your dedication to the struggle for socialism and a better world! I am a Communist Party (CPUSA) member. Earlier this evening, however, I attended a very small meeting of local Socialist Party (SPUSA) members. I enjoyed listening to what they had to say and felt sympathetic toward them, but I also felt amused when one of the SPUSA members described the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) as a front for the Democratic Party. Those SPUSA folks are apparently super adamant about the supposed need to totally reject and disavow both major political parties in the U.S right now. They're trying to build a multi-tendency mass socialist party that operates completely independently of the Democrats and Republicans. I think this seems like an admirable goal, but I also think the folks in the SPUSA may be overestimating the strength of the revolutionary socialist forces in the U.S. while underestimating the danger of the alt-right fascists and the far-right forces in the Republican Party and the Trump White House. Anyway, I feel committed to staying in the CPUSA because I really enjoyed the time in the past that I spent talking to the CPUSA national chairman and I also get along well with the CPUSA leader in my state. But I am also pretty curious about the DSA and also interested in possibly getting involved with the DSA. Would the DSA be okay with getting a new member who is also a CPUSA member? I'm not going to leave the CPUSA for the DSA, but the possibility of being a member of both organizations does seem appealing. Thanks for reading this post and for your consideration! Many thanks also for your interest in human emancipation and the building of a socialist future!

the only restriction on dsa membership is not belonging to a democratic centralist org and it isn't really even enforced afaik
