Connors doing a fine "my precioussssss" pose there. And given his attitude, I think The Lizard didn't have any mental changes at all. Connors just got pissed off that his serum didn't work perfectly first time and just started breaking things. Kind of like how Bruce Banner is actually kind of an angry jerk, and when well-adjusted teen Amadeus Cho becomes the hulk, he's pretty much fine.

Here is what I predict: MJ gets injured by a gator. Curt uses lizard serum to save her. MJ is healed, but transforms into a lizard woman during a live interview. MJ retains her human mind, and the public also loves her for coming out as a reptile, making her the first lizard-American celebrity. Seeing MJ become famous and loved instead of a crazed monster enrages Curt with jealousy. Curt shoots up another interview MJ attends but is stopped by her. Peter does nothing.
