To be fair the show seems to actually be handling Negan in a smarter way.

In the comics the big climax was Rick going "Hey maybe all this war kills people and we need people to do things?" and Negan is like "Oh gently caress! I literally never considered that!"

In the show Negan at least said "People are a resource" so he can't be completely defeated by the argument that the war isn't actually constructive.

I guess it's always possible they have him trip down some stairs and go into a coma and have an entire season where Rick keeps him alive so he can stand for his crimes.

And the only person with the right blood for his many transfusions is Morgan, but he refuses so Rick straps him down in a cell but then Carol frees him because it's :wrong:
Daryl backs up Carol, but Jesus defends Rick, they then fight with Rick yelling at Jesus to watch out for a chokehold. This distracts Daryl so much that Jesus knocks him out.
Carol freaks and kills Jesus before she realizes what she's done.
Rick wants to cast her out again because the Hilltop is in an uproar but Carl won't have it. Michonne takes Carl's side.

Rick, feeling betrayed, takes off in a jeep and goes to the Garbage Dump where he allows himself to be seduced and hosed by Jadis. The next morning he goes back to Michonne and the pain and remorse is etched in his face as he tells her, "Bad bad bang bang."

Except last season he wasted what, 60 people in dip poo poo plots to try and bring Rick's band into the fold? I still remember someone trying to argue that it made perfect sense... because having 60 less people on your team in exchange for a dozen people who are going to kill you as soon as your plot armor rusts away makes all the sense in (TWD) world.

Maybe he learned that this week? Who the gently caress knows; this show is bad.

Somebody somewhere must have counted how many Saviours have been killed. It seems like its about 300 compared to about 9 of Rick's people.

All of those people survived for over 5 years in a zombie apocalypse before committing to this suicide pact.

I don't necessarily agree. True, he's more a Mad Max villain than a truly grounded one, but that's not the problem.

The problem is ENTIRELY the plot armor for me. The fact he acts like a characterization and puts on a show doesn't bother me. The fact that he stands around in super duper easy murder range while giving EVERYONE a reason to want to murder him, however, is dumb as all gently caress.

People keep wanting to go "But, but, real dictators and personality cults and.." well, here's the thing: People try to kill real dictators. A loving lot. Even Stalin didn't go around unescorted in the countryside of Russia with a baseball bat randomly murdering people while telling them to lick his balls, and if he did, he'd been dead as poo poo.

Well, at least one tried to assassinate him, and somehow from point blank nailed a four inch bat instead

I’m legit rooting for the trash people. At least they seem free of “must we kill? we must kill... but must we kill??” debates taking up like all their time

The show clearly has no idea and the whole gray area morality poo poo is so poorly done. I am with you, but I don't like ANY group at this point. Rick being the loving worst oscillating between high and mighty speeches (while executing someone who surrendered) to looking like he is passing a kidney stone because one of his stupid convoluted plans failed. I can almost stand Negan because at least the actor is generally likable, even if the Negan schtick is just plan awful.

Also the CGI on the glider was so hilarious awful I can't tell if we are all being trolled by N64 level CGI or if the showrunners are just this loving incompetent. If this is AMCs headline show you would expect at least some marginally passable graphics. Especially since the majority of the show is just people waxing philosophical.

Okay so from what I've seen, the saviors are stuck in their lovely HQ because it's swarmed by zombies, but at the same time they seem to have endless ammunition and plenty of guns so... What's the problem here exactly, from their point of view? I know this show likes to ignore any obvious solutions to problems, like thinning the horde through a window, so what's the "canon" reason they are stuck in there?

I think the snipers prevented them from poking their heads out the windows to shoot the zombies. Once Daryl's Awesome Plan got them all inside, Eugene probably realized they could just mow the walkers down in a crossfire.

Okay, but then... how does mowing down the zombies help them any if they are boxed in by snipers? Isn't there like 10 Saviors left at this point?

EDIT:

Wait a minute, Daryl's plan is to let the zombies in? Why?

Okay so before Daryl crashes the car, Eugene is off goofing about on the rooftop with Dwight. I guess the snipers aren't allowed to shoot those two?

The talk about shocking and big character dying is interesting because (c o m i c c h a t) I don’t think any main characters die in the war. My guess/speculation:

Carol is going to die. Which would loving suck but they’ve given her character WAY more than she ever had in the comic and if the show is going to go time jump for the next half then she won’t really have a place in the upcoming storylines. Unless they give her Michone’s storyline with the King and keep Michone using Andrea’s story. I could kinda see that. If not her then it’ll be Daryl. He just hosed up the Sanctuary plan and once he realizes it he’ll go out in a blaze of glory trying to make up for it.

Honestly, the more “main” characters they keep through the war means the more shocking the whisperer wall will be which is the next big shocking moment in the story.

Doesn’t Negan solo-melee through the horde and the snipers? Surely they can get out with a bunch of assault rifles.

Honestly just send Negan out.

The unexpected death is gonna be the dude with Carl, but I hope it’s Morgan or Carol bc I am so sick of them putting on a grim face and weeping as they effortlessly slaughter a billion people and shout “you can’t come with me”
