Someone mentioned in another thread that some airlines require fight attendants to hand back any uniform if they leave the company or need a new one. Mainly for security, but also to stop fetish creeps wearing them.

But he said he decided to stay and go onstage to confront Yiannopoulos about his views.

I'm really not surprised by Bolt seeming halfway reasonable in the current climate, with the overton window being stretched out by a screaming pack of assholes, even archconservatives seem moderate. And I'd consider Bolt a true conservative, when he's not being fed whatever narrative suits Rupert that day. But also that's the thing - Dutton, Morrison, Bernardi, Abetz, Abbott, Andrews and Hastie aren't loving conservatives. They're right wing fundies, with all the christofascist baggage that comes along with that. The racism is mostly just dogwhistling for votes, but the hardcore assault on Islam comes from the fact that they consider their personal religious views to be more significant than individual freedoms / democracy.

I feel the outrage/witchhunt by the wider public for "paedos who got off lightly" is actually going to drive more people with those urges underground than seek help, which will lead to more kids being molested and raped. Ben's career and reputation (ignoring the fact he worked as a lovely journalist at A Current Affair) is already in complete tatters yet there's no proof he either raped or molested young children or has images or shared such images depicting child porn.
