AGENT NAHMAN JAYDEN, FBI.
Yeah gonna echo Thief's statements about learning maps via Cav.

Though really any good "roamer" character will do the same.

I think Cav is probably the best one in the group still but characters like Pulse, who arguably should never leave the objective, also make for great trainers.

I used to say Kapkan was a solid choice for roaming since you just poo poo out your traps and get kills at random but now he's so good at anchoring because the traps essentially serve as alarms now.

There's some overlap between barricading a house and fighting off a zombie horde. I could think of worse games to add zombie modes to.

What little singleplayer content is in the game is there entirely so that people can't say it's a multiplayer only game. It's like complaining that counter-strike doesn't have a single player mode.

I understand that's not normal for the Rainbow Six franchise but the game is entirely focused on multiplayer.

Have any of you read Rainbow six as adults? That book is some wack rear end neocon jerkoff gun porn and the story feels like it was scribbled by a child making pew pew noises along the way. Siege doesn't need a story

And yet it has one. You even still get the cutscene with the black lady when you load the game for the first time. They continue to force Terrorist Hunt missions on us for challenges. Siege doesn't need a loving Zombie mode either. At least we're all honest with ourselves about Ubisoft's priority being squeezing as many dollars as it can out of Siege, though.

The enduring legacy of Rainbow Six the book, to me, is that Ding Chavez, your hero and mine, complains about lag in a VR sim they do. Published 1998.

stop hatin on those optional challenges. you're literally missing out on 250 renown per week by ignoring them. its a good time killer for goons to finish their matches tho while waiting to join the party but i generally ignore it. i'd be mildy annoyed if they tied it to a unique dokkaebi cell phone charm but even ubi knows better than to go that far

Do you all realize you can load up a thunt mission and run to the nearest barricade and detonate a breach charge in your own face, or just jump out the nearest window as a defender and die to the timer and that all counts as 'playing' the mission, for the sake of the challenges? It's like 30 seconds to get free pointz

Normally, those weekly challenges end up being "Win 3 TH missions as X CTU". The "play TH" ones are dailies.

I like thunt, it's fun to just run around and shoot dudes sometimes and I can't go back from the gunplay in this game. Bonus points since you can potentially go around as lady dressed in space marine armor that throws futuristic stun grenades, a dude that carries two shotguns and has a visor you can toggle on when you wanna pretend to be tactical, and now a catsuit babe with a silenced sniper rifle that sounds cool as hell. It covers all the bases for when you wanna slink around like a badass special forces dude for a bit.

Only major issue is that the terrorists flinch they get shot which can lead to problems when I carry that muscle memory over into the real game.

I always play a few rounds of terrorist hunt when I'm done with an evening of playing real Siege. It's a fun way to wind down from the stressful and competitive e-sports environment of Casual. It's fun to do "tactical" stuff like rappelling, breaching through walls and shooting bad guys and it actually works instead of it being a human player on the other end that headshots you in a quarter second.

The gadget/melee challenge is the only one I dislike, because Tachanka's LMG counts as a rifle for it :( In fact, it's even weirder - Caveira's pistol counts as a gadget and secondary SMGs count as pistols, yet the secondary shotguns count as shotguns.

I need some help, because the internet hasn't been fruitful: every time I update my Nvidia drivers, I'm doing clean installs, and I have to overclock my monitor in the Nvidia control panel back up to 90hz. Windows detects it, every other game detects it, and Siege usually did fine. The only issues I had were fixed after restarting after updating drivers, then Siege would recognize the change. This time, that didn't work, and even after editing the .Ini file to 90, it still reads as 59.96 or whatever.

Anyone else have this issue?

Tonight, to alleviate frustration and people stewing instead of doing callouts in our ranked games, I took control of our group. I picked defense spots, and called out operators or what we needed; Thermite and Hibana, or a three speed up on second floor with two two speeds rotating in the middle as needed. Frustrations were way down and we only lost rounds due to missing shots and a couple tactical blunders. The first few games were stressful as gently caress but we began gelling again, callouts became more clear, and people began volunteering for things I called out.

It was very rewarding and we're going to attempt a rotation of one leader per game, instead of everyone doing whatever and hoping it works out. That was also four times as much talking as I ever do and dried me out something fierce.

You can also go back up to the roof. One of the possible hostage positions is right next to an outside window, so if the defenders aren't paying attention you can get an incredibly quick smash and grab going.
