American society is falling apart because people are proud of being ignorant. I dunno what the solution is.

Reminds me of Sarah Palin in the 2008 campaign mocking the fact that National Science Foundation funds were being used 'to study fruit flies'. The fruit fly is one of the best things to use for genetic research because they breed super fast and they have an incredibly wide genetic match with humans when it comes to disease-causing genes. She had no idea about that and no desire to be educated.

Goal is to block implementation until Trump is gone and then the new FCC can just drop this stupid poo poo. Should be easy to clog up in court for years.

Yep, think of this as the mirror of what the GOP did to the Clean Power Plan. They locked it up in court just long enough for Trump to win and reverse the whole thing, bing bing bong so simple. Doesn't matter that the CPP was clearly legal and constitutional, just the hold on stuff that happens when you litigate it is the point.

again the thing that people aren't getting is republicans dont like repeal either. nobody likes their ISP and everyone thinks their bill is too high. support of net neutrality among republicans and democratic voters is almost literally the smae.

When you fall, get right back up again.
Trump can cry and whine about regulations all he likes but getting rid of most of those regulations is not even in the interests of the businesses that control whether or not congress cares. In general the established players are all about the government mandating you do more since it's just one more barrier to entry.

As far as I can tell, Republican voters don't know what Net Neutrality *is* - they've been told it's something to do with the internet remaining politically neutral (i.e. Twitter can't ban you for being a bigot.)

This is an interesting development for the tax bill. They need every vote they can to pass whatever's coming out of conference, and if McCain isn't physically able to vote, that'll delay it, but at the same time, they're rushing to get a vote before Senator Doug Jones (D-AL) is seated.

McCain just won his election in 2016 right? That'd be a hell of a pickup if we could take it in a special election and set the senate at 50-50 with the Pence tiebreaker.
