I probably would have liked it better if more places were like the 'major' built up locations + Camp MurderDeathKill in Ground Zeroes, but I spent a stupid amount of time in both the PS4 and PC versions of the game regardless.

I could care less about the majority of the plot in MGSV, just give me more fun ways to knock out guys and kidnap their commander in exciting new locales. Hmm, maybe people like characters who they've grown attached to and the characteristic bombastic plots filled with memorable characters, settings, bosses, and areas, and that a gigantic bland open world filled with repetitive missions that serve no purpose becomes massively unfun to play once you realize there's never going to be anything interesting to make up for it

the true ending was a really cool idea that didn't stick the landing. having you replay the intro sucked, especially because you have to s rank and complete all the objectives for both for the platinum; that should have just been all cutscene. they also seriously missed out on having solid snake actually infiltrate your mother base as a reverse to metal gear the epilogue is a disjointed mess and I don't think anyone is gonna argue that point. still a great game tho
