Well, for a given value of "his". I'd guess that he failed to make payments on his car loan and the bank repo'd it. I hope it was a $1300 car to begin with, and he paid $700 of it off so far, but my heart is telling me that it was a $1000 dollar car and he's trying to make money on his repo'd car.

Supposed to be making payments to the dealer, who holds onto the title until he's done. He's mad at the "piece of poo poo car lot" and so has elected to stop making said payments and attempt to recover some of his equity from the 2004 Honda Civic in a private sale. It's not repo'd yet, but is exactly the sort of thing a repoman would be hired to steal/recover Whole thing is v Florida vibe, if that's north of the Mason-Dixon or west of the Mississippi... Well it's not. It just isn't.
